The Grant Writer supports TCC's Development and Communications Department to meet fundraising goals through TCC's grant process including grant management, grant writing and other fundraising projects and events. Works closely with staff across departments to gather institutional information and data to maximize foundation and government donations and ensure stewardship of funders. Duties include overseeing the grant management calendar, conducting grant research, and production, editing and proofreading of grant applications and reports including correspondence and supporting documents as well as coordination of awarded grant/project management process. Grants Writing and Grant Management: • Develop, write and edit programmatic grant proposals and letters of inquiry and reports to foundations, corporations and government agencies. • Conducts research for new funding opportunities such as grants, giving campaigns, sponsorships and other funding opportunities and maintains a portfolio with foundation donors and prospects including government entities, foundations, corporate, local and community funders • Creating checklists for new grants to organize the grant preparation process between TCC internal departments upon the release of RFPs • Collaborate with TCC program staff and leadership to gather information and data needed for grant application to ensure the accurate articulation of TCC's mission and programs • Work with financial staff and programmatic staff to develop grant budgets and expenditure reports • Creates grant application materials such as forms, cover letters, letters of support, and grant other attachments • Assists with grant and report submission process such including email submissions and through online grant portals • Manages and updates the grant grid/calendar of reports and grants to track award status and submission and reporting due dates Grants Post-Award Process: • Coordinates grant award agreements and contract review process • Crates new grant award summary and packets for internal staff internal award meetings • Schedule & coordinate new grant award internal meetings with TCC project manager and related staff • Works with program managers to ensure that program activities comply with grant agreements, contracts and budgets • Coordinates grant management projects with programmatic staff including participation in learning collaboratives, project implementation meetings and other project management duties • Creates and updates general grant templates and application FAQ's for dept. use in developing applications • Drafts press-releases for new grant awards • Work with program staff to coordinate report questions and oversee editing and final submission process. • Submits Data Requests to Compliance Dept. to gather information for grants and reports Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in related field and minimum two (2) years related experience with grant process knowledge including grant management and grant writing with a nonprofit organization preferred. Experience fundraising for a health care organization is a plus. • Highly effective communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills • Must be a strong writer with the ability to write in a number of different styles for varying audiences • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Must have high proficiency in computer skills and knowledge of internet, Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities and projects • Experience working with senior management staff • Excellent attention to detail and follow through with an emphasis on accuracy • Ability to work both independently and as a team player • Willingness to work some evenings, weekend days to complete special projects and participate in fundraising events • Demonstrate understanding and commitment to TCC's mission and helping diverse and underserved population in the community Job Type: Full-time Pay: $32.00 - $36.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Flexible schedule Health insurance Paid time off Retirement plan Vision insurance Experience level: 2 years Schedule: Monday to Friday Work setting: In-person Education: Bachelor's (Required) Experience: grant management and grant writing: 2 years (Required) Negotiation: 1 year (Required) grant processing: 2 years (Required) nonprofit: 2 years (Required)
