Mass General Brigham is seeking a per diem / prn Radiology Technologist for a per diem / prn job in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Qualifications and Experience Education/Degree Required · Completion of formal radiologic technology training in an AMA approved school. · Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or registry eligible with successful completion of the registry within three months of hire. Preferred Experience Required · Minimum of 3 years of related experience with an Associate’s Degree preferred for Radiographer I I. · Minimum of 5 years experience with at least two years in Radiographer II capacity, with an Associate’s Degree preferred for Radiographer II I. Preferred · One year experience preferred. Licensure Required · Current and valid Massachusetts license to perform radiography. Preferred Skills (Specific learned activity gained through training (e.g. computer skills, keyboarding, presentation, CPR, ACLS, etc.) Required · For Radiographer II and III, targets on annual performance evaluations for the year prior must be achieved in order request a clinical ladder promotion. · Effective verbal, electronic and written communications skills using the English language. · Computer proficiency required. Microsoft office applications preferred with ability to learn new software. Preferred · Highly developed communications and interpersonal skills, working with diverse population. · Work independently, be self-directed and contribute as a member of a team. · Anticipates challenges and develops and implements strategies for addressing them. · High level of service delivery. Demonstrate initiative with ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and adapt to changing situations. · Attention to detail. Summary Under the general direction of the department leader and the clinical direction of the Radiologist, perform radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Perform a variety of technical procedures as directed by a physician, serving patients of all ages, and requiring independent judgment to apply ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis. The majority of patients will be from the adult and geriatric age groups. Perform a variety of patient contact duties that may include educating patients/families to safety protocols and to routine diagnostic procedures. Utilize the Meditech Admissions and Radiology Modules for patient processing. E mploy (CR) Computerized Radiography for digital capture of diagnostic images. E nsure that images are archived properly in Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital (SRH) PACS and efficiently transmitted to Teleradiology for interpretation. Radiographer II Work with and provide instruction to radiography students on clinical rotation at SR N. May provide input for department employment decisions and individual staff progress. Actively engage in quality control and quality improvement activities. Contribute positively to meeting targeted departmental retake rate. Provide periodic staff oversight in the absence of the department leader or Radiology III position. Complete and maintain clinical ladder requirements for the Radiographer II position. Radiographer III Complete additional responsibilities as outlined in Radiographer I I. Provide input on budget, purchasing and human resource matters. Work collaboratively with the IS department and CR/PACS vendors on projects and issues that directly impact Radiology services. Assume oversight responsibility in the absence of the departmental leader. Complete and maintain clinical ladder requirements for Radiographer III position. Key Responsibilities · Radiographic equipment is operated according to established guidelines. · Diagnostic radiology services are provided for patients of all ages applying the principals of radiation protection and in adherence to department policy and procedure. · Patient requests are processed in Meditech Radiology Module and required information systems per established guidelines. · Patient care and education is provided for performance of procedures. · Immediate or emergency patient care interventions are taken as necessitated by patient condition and per hospital guidelines. · Proper patient positioning and technique selection is used to ensure radiograph technical quality standards. Contributes positively to meeting departmental goal of a retake analysis. · Radiation safety principles, contact precautions, proper handling of requisitions, and pre/post procedures are integrated into work practices. · Physician assistance is provided with imaging procedures and administration of contract media to meet established guidelines. · Additional department, organization, or network activities are completed per established objectives. · PCC Organizational Values of Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence are upheld. Additional Key Responsibilities for Radiographer II · Clinical support is provided for radiology staff to ensure image quality meets technical standards. · Patient throughput is coordinated to use department resources effectively. · Hospital based committee participation is actively engaged in to meet established objectives. · Active participation in departmental or interdisciplinary process improvement project. · Active participation in one health related event in the community or professional organization. Additional Key Responsibilities for Radiographer III · Staff recruitment and annual performance evaluation input is provided to department leader per established timeframes. · Compliance and accreditation readiness support is provided to meet standards. · Radiology policies are developed/reviewed/amended for department leader’s approval. · Departmental/interdisciplinary process improvement process is led to achieve stated goals. · Partners Management Skills Program is attended. · Required leadership/management meetings are attended in the absence of the department leader. · Staff oversight is assumed in the absence of the department leader.
