Position Description: Production Supervisor is responsible to oversee shift production along with support group activities to produce high quality parts following established procedures and work instructions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Complete Group Leader Standardized Work daily. Conduct attendance roll-call of team leaders, if team leader is absent, Group Leader will be responsible for filling the team leader role. Download pertinent information to team leader to assist them in conducting the start of shift meeting. Upload pertinent information to the Production Manager (PM) in preparation for Daily Shop-Floor reviews. Ensure any external services associated line/cell is up to standard. Establish and communicate any training/meeting requirements for the department/cell to the team leader. Develop and audit Standardized Work with team leader. Train team leaders in all Standardized Work including Safety, Quality and Delivery processes and assist cross-training objectives. Audit Standardized Work for Safety, Quality and output. Must follow escalation protocol for all processes. Conduct one on one daily Gemba (shop-floor) walk to mentor and drive root-cause analysis with team leaders. Achieve area Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and assist team leader in trouble-shooting to attain standard(s). Support disposition, implementation, and escalation of suggestion idea submissions. Ensure any applicable disciplinary processes are adhered to. Ensure performance review process for team leaders and team members is being completed. Assist Production Manager with manpower and capacity requirements planning for the area. Other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities Manages shift Production Operators Qualifications: Education and/or Experience Minimum three (3) year manufacturing experience. Preferred automotive and lean experience. Minimum two (2) year supervisory experience. Preferred 3 to 5 years supervisory experience Experience operating Plex is a plus Experience in metal stamping is a plus Tactical and hands-on leadership ability For internal promotion(s) purposes, must be at a “meeting expectations” level in previous performance management rating Skills and Abilities Solution orientated with the ability to investigate and analyze data for problem solving Must have knowledge and ability to drive Shiloh Production System (SPS) Safety and Quality Culture and procedures. Must have thorough knowledge of Standardized Work Instructions. Project Management skills and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to think and act cross-functionally Basic mechanical aptitude with strong attention to detail focus Ability to bring stability to a fast paced, highly complex setting Must demonstrate ability to coach and mentor to promote a continual learning environment. Demonstrated continuous improvement skills and thought process Must be able to lead and develop a team environment to support SPS Must have demonstrated computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Strong communication and engagement skills Must be able to perform administrative duties as requested Must be able to work regular daily and weekend overtime with limited notice.
