Overview of Job Description: The Safety Manager is responsible for the overall Safety & Security Programs and related activities for the entire company at all locations. The manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of all company Safety & Security policies, regulations, rules and standards to ensure a safe work environment for employees and visitors. The EHSS Manager will supervise and coordinate the activities of the Safety & Security team, including all related training programs, including but not limited to equipment and forklift training. This position is responsible for Workers Compensation functions, which includes facility audits, accident and injury investigations as well as other safety compliance duties as directed. This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Safety: The position will also assist with various Safety & Workers Compensation functions to include but not limited to: Conduct large and individual safety training. Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Demonstrate knowledge of general employee safety issues, Fire Prevention, OSHA and other regulatory compliance issues. Injury & Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) Hazardous Communication Emergency Response Protocol Accident Investigation & Documentation Contagious Illness Preparedness Injury Investigation Workers Compensation Claims Management Comply with OSHA Regulations and Response Lock Out/Tag Out Ergonomics CPR & First Aid Environmental Compliance Facility Evacuation Facility Inspections Transportation & Logistics Manage Employees Security (preferred): Plan and coordinate security activities to safeguard company assets, employees, guest and others. Manage Physical Security Supervisor and the current security team. Assess all security processes and procedure to assure we have proper security coverage for all facilities. Evaluate each facility to make sure we have proper security coverage. Help create and implement security standards that are in line with OSHA requirements. Evaluate camera coverage and come up with strategic plan for critical locations. Review ingress and egress points and zones of security, to assure proper processes are in place. Establish an Active Shooter protocol, using OSHA guidelines as well as any other outside support group or company. Evaluate the current Security Origination Chart and make necessary changes as needed. Knowledge: Intermediate Microsoft Office knowledge such as: Word, Excel and Outlook. Typing & Data entry skills (at least 30 WPM). Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Requirements: Minimum 3 years Safety & Workers Compensation experience in a management role in a manufacturing environment. Excellent verbal and communication skills. Bilingual Spanish required (Read, Write & Speak). Successful completion of criminal background check.
