The International Logistics Analyst coordinates and provides oversight of day-to-day export and/or import operations. The position is responsible for the coordination of the paperwork and physical movement of export and/or import shipments. They will be the primary point of contact within JM and with the appropriate external provider/s (e.g. customs broker, freight forward, carrier, etc.) for the shipments that they are monitoring. The Analyst will ensure that product moves uninterrupted from origin to destination and will handle any issues with the minimal amount of disruption as possible. They will provide feedback and insight to the Manager on provider and carrier performance during performance reviews, bids, etc. Anticipated deadline to apply: 12/1/24. Your Day-to-Day : Responsible to communicate any compliance concerns to the Logistic Leaders if they observe or have concerns with JM or any party involved with the violation or potential violation of the laws, regulations, JM policy, etc. of the US/Canada or any other governing body that has oversight of a shipment. Analyst will be responsible for the daily oversight and coordination of export and/or import shipments from origin to the destination they are assigned (e.g. making booking, create docs, shipment tracking, customs clearance, etc.). Responsible for the proactive communication and coordination of shipments, and any updates, between internal and external parties (e.g. forwarder, carrier, draymen, etc.) as needed to align with JM’s manufacturing schedule changes. Responsible to create export shipment documentation (e.g. SLI-shippers letter of intent, wood certificate, EEI-electronic export information, etc.) as required. Analyst is an international shipping expert and work closely with JM colleagues to provide support, educate, and ensure JMs compliance with laws, regulation through the life cycle for associated shipping activities. Responsible to follow the routing guide as established by the Manager. Identify cost reduction opportunities and develop strategies necessary to achieve established cost reduction initiatives. Responsible to gather and update SAP or other JM systems as needed. Tracks international import and/or export shipments. Develop strong relationships with internal and external parties. Support the freight invoice review and audit process and resolving any issues with invoices. Prepare daily weekly monthly reports as directed. Will lead or assists Manager with projects as assigned. May be required to perform other related duties as assigned. What You Bring to the Team: Bachelor's degree preferred with 4 years of international shipping experience; or 7 more years of relevant international work experience in lieu of a degree. Solid knowledge and experience in international logistics operations; including transportation (air and ocean), Incoterms, and import and export customs requirements (e.g. product classification, EAR, BIS, DOC, OFAC, CTPAT, etc.). Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Strong customer service, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Minimal travel required (0 to 10 days per year). Work environment is typical of an office setting.
