POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Technical Sales Manager, the main function of the Designer is to develop new and improved concepts; ensure the continuity of our products while being efficient and competitive in order to meet the needs of our customers. He must develop and provide the sales department with punctual and efficient support. RESPONSIBILITIES Support sales and production; Carry out packaging studies; Design and develop CADs and prototypes that meet customer needs; Design and / or copy the printing illustrations of corrugated boxes; Work with salesforce/customer to acquire all required information needed to effectively create a design; Record specifications and assign proper manufacturing allowances considering machine limitations. Find ways to optimize board grades Produce technical drawings and / or graphics in order to purchase the dies; Collaboration with production, customer service, quality, and sales team members to design/create the best potential corrugated products; Collaboration with the tooling supervisor and team to ensure management and maintenance of dies; Determine the compression of a packaging and the best arrangement of the packaged product; Be able to carry out various laboratory tests; Analyze testing results for customers to determine best design options; Work with production on runability of new and existing items to determine manufacturing potential and quality improvements; Spend time at the machine center for challenging first runs and office assistance; Establish the palletization scheme using the "Cape" software, following the customer's request; Maintain the design lab scrap and sample stock; Travel to customers to address packaging concerns and analyze packaging operations for potential structural improvements as needed; Any other task (s) assigned by his supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS · Post-secondary degree (Graphic – industrial design); · High School Diploma or GED Equivalent · Excellent knowledge of IT tools (MS office suite software); · Following software an asset: Artios CAD (esko) or other drawing software, Capepack, illustrator, Kiwiplan. EXPERIENCE · 2-5 years of experience in Corrugated Packaging Design; · 2-5 years of experience in Artios CAD preferred The masculine is used without any discrimination and for the sole purpose of lightening the text.
