The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing company-wide safety programs and initiatives. This individual will ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations and will work to create a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, customers and visitors. The Safety Manager will collaborate with various departments and promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities: Develop Safety Programs: Design, implement, and manage safety policies, procedures, and training programs that comply with industry standards and legal requirements. Safety Committee: Creation and direction of company safety committee. Vehicle Programs: Maintain all company-owned vehicle safety protocols and consistently review for updates and monitoring of all driver requirements and MVR reviews. Training and Development: Provide safety training and education to employees at all levels. Maintain all customer safety site portals. Ensure that all employees understand safety protocols and are equipped to work safely. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the organization adheres to OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety regulations. Regularly review and update safety procedures to remain in compliance. Incident Investigation: Lead investigations of workplace accidents, injuries, and near-misses. Analyze root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent future incidents. Risk Assessment: Conduct regular safety audits, hazard assessments, and risk evaluations to identify and mitigate potential risks. Safety Reporting: Maintain accurate safety records, including injury logs, OSHA logs and documentation, audits, and inspection reports. Prepare reports and present findings to senior management. Review Loss Control reports and other data to make recommendations to reduce the EMR and TRIR rates. Emergency Preparedness: Develop and oversee emergency response plans, including fire drills, evacuation plans, and first aid training. Budget Management: Oversee the safety department’s budget, ensuring cost-effective safety measures and equipment purchases. Leadership & Collaboration: Lead a team of safety professionals and collaborate with department heads to foster a safety-first mindset across all operations. Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements in safety technology. Implement continuous improvements to enhance workplace safety. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety Management, Environmental Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience. OSHA 30 certification Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or other relevant certifications are highly desirable. 4 years of experience in a safety leadership role, preferably in construction industry In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory safety standards. Proven experience in safety program development and management. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to lead incident investigations. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to educate and influence all levels of the organization. Proficient in safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
