Location: Gulf Coast Medical Center -13681 Doctor's WayFort Myers FL 33912 Department: Plant Operations Work Type: Full Time ; Monday - Friday Shift: Shift 1/7:00:00 AM to 3:30:00 PM Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate: $18.64 - $23.30 / hour Summary Perform all operations necessary to plan, prepare and paint surfaces of hospital facilities, using all types of equipment, applicators, paints and other liquid coverings. Knowledge of wall covering applications necessary. Job Responsibilities: Has knowledge of wall covering applications (wallpaper, etc.). Applies protective and decorative coats of paint, varnish, lacquer, and/or other related materials to interior or exterior surfaces of building. Washes, scrapes, sands, and/or smoothens interior and exterior surfaces prior to painting, varnishing lacquering or applying other related materials. Performs plastering and patching work on various surfaces. Prepares surfaces for finish product. Protects area from damage of spills and dust. Cleans equipment, painting mixing area, and work area. Operates compressors, striping machines, spray equipment and other small power equipment Erect various types of scaffolding, staging, ladders, and planks to reach surfaces of work for Painters. Sustains a high degree of care and awareness required to prevent physical injuries to visitors, patients and employees. Applies paints, stains , surface preparatory materials and undercoating materials to a variety of surfaces, as appropriate and according to Material Safety Data Sheet ensuring compliance with hazardous material guidelines. Determines appropriate color for new or replacement applications through hospital standards. Maintains existing paint surfaces through matching and tinting of appropriate paint products. Schedules work in area of responsibility. Pressure clean concrete walks patio furniture, walls, ceilings and roofs. Identification, safe handling and appropriate disposal of paints, stains, preparatory and undercoating materials and other hazardous material. Estimates material cost and labor cost to Lead technician and/or Manager for approval of work to be performed. Demonstrates proficiency and competency as a Painter. Maintains facility in accordance to required regulation (AHCA, DNV). Performs other job related duties as assigned.
