Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 12/09/2024 Duration: 12 weeks 48 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Details Contract Duration: From 13 weeks up to March 15, 2025, to support our unit through the holidays. Work Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week with no overtime billed until after 48 hours. Shift: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15). Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend. Floating Requirement: As needed to the sister unit, ICCU. Required Skills and Certifications Minimum of 2 years of experience in PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown units. Experience with arterial lines, titrating vasoactive drips, and telemetry. Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, Rapid Response Teams, and IV insulin protocols. Central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and heparin protocols expertise. Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, and NIH. Experience with IV start, telemetry, and conscious sedation. Patient Diagnoses ICU stepdown, post-rapid response team patients, respiratory distress, and unstable hemodynamics. GI bleeds, post-op surgeries (GYN, GU, GI, thoracotomies, neuro, ortho), and pre/post OB with complications. Patient age range: adolescent, adult, geriatric. Special Procedures and Equipment Administering specific drips such as Cardizem, Nitro, Precedex, Cardene, Levophed, Dopamine, and Dobutamine. Use of bedside telemetry monitors with remote backup. Proficiency in recognizing and treating dysrhythmias, A-lines, BIPAPs, chest tubes, and tracheostomies. Additional Information Hospital Orientation: Available for classes during the first week.
