Locum Physician (MD/DO) - Gastroenterology in Washington

Job Title: Physician - Gastroenterologist Job Specialty: Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology Job Duration: 13 months Shift: Day - 5x8 - 9am - 5pm, weekday coverage, no nights or weekends Guaranteed Hours: 8 hours Experience: Not specified License: Board Certification required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy and foreign body removal - Esophageal dilatation/manometry - Small bowel biopsy - Lower GI endoscopy, including sigmoidoscopy (flexible and rigid), and colonoscopy with biopsy or excision of polyp Job Description: - Fill a Gastro Hospitalist-type role in a supplemental capacity alongside existing staff. - Work alongside a staff provider who alternates months, covering when they are off. - Minimal procedures required unless willing to perform outpatient procedures. - Patient encounters average five per shift. - Work in a facility with a trauma level of 2 and a PEDs level of 0. - Participate in diagnostics along with required specialty skills. - Possibility of being considered for a permanent position based on performance. - Expected to be skilled in fulguration of bleeder (cautery vs. laser) and esophageal manometry interpretation. - No lodging preapproval is needed.
