Summary This position is accountable for comprehensive Payroll Management with a focus on Systems and Process Enhancements/Innovation and relies on deep expertise in payroll management, leadership skills, meticulous attention to detail and ability to innovate and streamline payroll systems and processes. This role combines the rigors of payroll management with the creativity and foresight needed for continuous improvement and efficiency in payroll operations. This role is integral to the efficient operation of the organization's payroll function, ensuring both accuracy and compliance in all aspects. This role is expected to play a key role, acting as single point of contact, for payroll integration activities. Responsibilities Comprehensive Payroll Management and Innovation Lead major components of the US Biweekly and Canadian Monthly Payroll, focusing on the identification and implementation of innovative practices to boost the efficiency and accuracy of end-to-end processes. This involves reevaluating existing procedures, integrating new technologies, and optimizing workflows to enhance the overall payroll system. Maintain the highest standards in payroll record management by introducing advanced systems and practices that improve both security and efficiency in record-keeping. Assume leadership of the department when the Payroll Head is unavailable, effectively managing the complete payroll operations for both bi-weekly and annual cycles. Advanced Problem-Solving and Process Optimization Tackle complex payroll issues with an innovative mindset. This involves not only solving immediate problems but also critically assessing and redesigning processes to prevent future challenges. The role requires a blend of analytical thinking and innovative problem-solving skills. Strategic Duty Management with Improvement Focus: Actively manage and revamp monthly and quarterly payroll responsibilities. This task involves rethinking traditional practices, implementing new strategies, and ensuring that these improvements align with the company’s standards of excellence. Innovative Payroll Processing Techniques: Ensure payroll processing is not only accurate and timely but also continuously seeking ways to utilize technological advancements for more efficient processing methods. Lead the team in developing and implementing sophisticated reporting tools and processes, ensuring that these advancements result in more effective and efficient audit responses. Tax Reporting and Compliance Innovation: Oversee and innovate in the area of tax reporting and compliance, introducing new methods and technologies to enhance accuracy and efficiency. End-of-Year Reporting and W2 Process Enhancement: Coordinate with various departments to not only ensure accurate year-end reporting and W2 preparation but also to introduce improvements and innovations in these processes. Vendor Partnership for Technological Advancements: Manage relationships with HR third-party vendors, focusing on leveraging these partnerships to bring in new technological solutions and process improvements in payroll management. Proactive Auditing and Collaborative System Upgrades Conduct in-depth audits of payroll data, collaborating with HR and IT to not only address discrepancies but also to identify areas for system improvements and enhancements. Retirement Plan Oversight and Compliance: Manage and audit retirement plan contributions, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This includes liaising with HR Benefits Team and vendors, correcting data discrepancies, and streamlining processes for efficiency. Comprehensive Training on Advanced Payroll Systems Create and provide in-depth training to Payroll teammates, stakeholders and new hires as appropriate and collaborate with Talent Acquisition to ensure a modern and efficient onboarding experience.
