Description Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant is a member of the finance team responsible for grant management, AP, and GL functions. As it relates to grants this position must provide technical and administrative management of all grants ensuring accurate documentation and reporting of grant expenditures and compliance with grant requirements such as submitting timely and accurate grant applications and working with program leaders and their staff to develop budget information for new grant applications, reconciliations, and analyses in an accurate and timely manner. Tactical responsibilities include monitoring grant compliance, tracking and documenting all grant spending, managing accounts receivables and accounts payables for grants and initiatives, and providing all financial reporting required by grantors, Humanim leadership, and external auditors. AP duties include EFT and manual check processing along with GL duties to include month end journal entries and variance analyses. Early wage access - UKG Wallet Health & Wellness programs Tuition reimbursement - up to $3,600 per year And more Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred. 3 years of direct non-profit grant administration and accounting experience preferred. Solid experience coordinating grant pre and post-award activities and managing reporting, budget development and analysis, grant accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and granting sponsor's requirements. A proven track record in grants management, as it relates to compliance and reporting of government, corporate, and foundation grants, is essential. Technology savvy with experience in various grantor's systems and/ or reporting formats and advanced knowledge of accounting and reporting software. Keen analytic, organization, and problem-solving skills allowing for value-added data interpretation versus. simple reporting. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presenting grant-related information to senior management, board, or other outside grantors and/ or partners. Ability and desire to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels and all diversity classes including finance and non-finance managers. Knowledge of financial and accounting best practices, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
