Description This position is responsible for system administration of core server system hardware and operating system, to include all automations, monitoring, and management systems. It is also responsible for operational job control, job scheduling, and job troubleshooting. Essential Functions System Administration AIX System Administration Responsible hardware management, maintenance, operations and support of both production and non-production server systems. Responsible for software management, maintenance, operations, and support of both production and non-production systems. Responsible for software patching, firmware upgrades, backups, data retention and archival, failover and disaster recovery of all AIX systems. Responsible for Hardware design and architecture, long term capacity planning and system integrations. (CPU, memory, SAN/Disc, encryption) Linux System Administration Responsible hardware management, maintenance, operations and support of both production and non-production server systems. Responsible for software management, maintenance, operations, and support of both production and non-production systems. Responsible for software patching, firmware upgrades, backups, data retention and archival, failover and disaster recovery of all Linux systems. Responsible for Hardware design and architecture, long term capacity planning and system integrations. (CPU, memory, SAN/Disc, encryption) UNIX System Monitoring and Management Responsible for monitoring of AIX/Linux hardware and software. Responsible for the architecture, implementation, and support of UNIX monitoring framework. Responsible determining alarms, alerts, setting thresholds, notifications and both capacity and performance reporting. Responsible for mentoring and coaching of junior staff on troubleshooting of alarms and alerts. System Automation. OpCon Automation Responsible for the management, maintenance, operations and support of SMA Solution's software OpCon. Responsible for the setup and maintenance of all OpCon specific schedules and jobs. Responsible for SMA software updates and patching. Responsible for software functionality roadmap and vendor due diligence of the chosen vendor System Integration Responsible deployment, management, and support of all systems OpCon LSAMs, nfs mount points, and ftp or other integrations. Responsible for maintaining the security and/or encryption of all integration data and transports. Custom Code Development & Maintenance Responsible for the development, maintenance and support of all automation related UNIX scripts, Perl scripts, PowerOn scripts, windows or command line scripts. Responsible for automation related software introduction, modification, and elimination life cycle. System Operations Job Scheduling Responsible setup of all automation schedules, associated jobs, exceptions, and dependencies. Responsible for ensuring job schedules run as expected and resolving any schedule related incidents. Job Maintenance & Control Responsible for setup of all production and test jobs. Responsible for job maintenance, control, arguments, and outputs. Responsible for ensuring all job maintenance or changes follow established change control procedures and are documented. Job Troubleshooting Responsible for support for all job or scheduling troubleshooting. Responsible for resolution of all automation related incidents or problems. Process Improvement. Maintain consistency and standardization of the environment. Adhere to IT security policy, procedures, and guidelines. Develop and maintain expertise with the hardware platforms and software applications supported by the IT department. Work with various auditors to provide recommendations that enhance the security program. Contribute to improving the quality of the service provided by IT by actively participating in meetings and providing input. Alert appropriate personnel when critical IT systems malfunction. Maintain all systems and software documentation relevant to job duties. Stay current on emerging technologies and trends to aid in the integration, development, testing and support of Summit Credit Union systems. Mentor and train internal staff on subjects related to UNIX system administration, job scheduling and troubleshooting. Understands and is accountable for executing all job functions in a way that is consistent with all requirements of BSA, OFAC and the USA Patriot Act/Customer Identification Act (CIP). Additional Functions Assist with additional projects and other duties as assigned by departmental leadership. Job Specifications Four year degree in IT related field or 7-9 years applicable professional experience and demonstrated strong technical acumen through technical certification. Professional well developed interpersonal skills essential for professional interactions with all levels of credit union staff under normal and adverse circumstances. Working knowledge of front and back office procedures in a financial institution is a plus. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time and projects with resources from within and outside department. Requires detailed, team oriented working style with the ability to apply critical thinking to resolve problems in new situations. Understanding of UNIX System Administration Understanding of computer system operations and automation. Understanding of Jack Henry Symitar system and PowerOn programming language. Experience performing support, including Windows, Linux/Unix, SQL or other database and OpCon Automations. Understanding of network topologies and protocols. Why Summit? The employee occasionally must reach above and below shoulder level and lift up to 50 lbs. Environmental/Working Conditions Works in a typical administrative setting with climate control and appropriate lighting. Must be available for after hour assignments, weekend work, and to provide cell phone and remote support for emergencies, as necessary. This position may be eligible for telecommuting. Equipment Used Personal computer and a variety of networked communications devices including but not limited to servers, workstations, laptops, and mobile platforms.
