About the Department The Strategy & Rare Disease (STARS) organization drives the long-term strategic direction of Novo Nordisk Inc. (NNI)/North America Operations (NAO) and leads all US commercial efforts for Novo Nordisk’s Rare Disease portfolio. The mandate of STARS is to facilitate the development and to coordinate the execution of the long-term strategy, defining a sustainable business model in US beyond a 5-year time horizon. This department serves as the insiders of the US market when informing and help shaping upstream decisions around future investments and assets. The Rare Disease portfolio includes products in the hemophilia and growth disorders therapeutic areas, new products in the pipeline, and products acquired through business development efforts in existing and new areas. The STARS team collaborates and partners with groups across NAO, Research & Early Development, Development, innovation hubs across NN, other affiliates, and global. The Position The Summer Associate Program at Novo Nordisk is a high-caliber, competitive opportunity for first year graduate level students. For 12 weeks, summer associates will be immersed in the environment of a global pharmaceutical company and will be challenged with critical thinking, strategic planning and implementation project work. The Summer Associate Program is offered in business-critical units of the enterprise that will provide summer associates with an innovative and enriched hands-on, full-time work experience. The Summer Associate Program also includes instructor-led trainings, a leadership engagement series, and a guided mentorship program to offer professional and personal development. Program Start: May 19th, 2025. Program End: August 8th, 2025. Scope of Position The Strategy Consulting summer associate position provides candidates the opportunity to work alongside senior executives on business-critical challenges. The team reports to the NAO Executive Office. As a part of the team, you will work closely with business executives on high impact projects to rethink and reshape business priorities and collaborate across teams to understand and solve complex business problems across the firm's value chain. The projects involve high visibility, steep learning, and contribution to highly impactful causes. They cut across strategy and operations and provide you an opportunity to gain insight into functional and therapeutic areas across the firm. Consulting services include business transformation, commercial operations, commercial strategy, market access, growth strategy, operating model optimization, technology implementation, and enterprise transformation. As a summer associate, you will be expected to synthesize content effectively and be able to present information crisply and help drive key business decisions with senior stakeholders. Consulting skillsets such as building presentations quickly for senior management, storytelling through slides, visual presentation on PowerPoint, etc. are key to success in this role. Qualifications Must be a current student enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing the first year of a Master of Business Administration degree Three years of relevant work experience preferred Strong academic record with a preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher Conscientious self-starter with good organizational skills, project management skills and attention to detail Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities, must be able to multi-task Strong interpersonal communication and ability to collaborate with teams; must effectively operate independently, across functional lines, and with internal customers Demonstrated personal initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, adaptability and willingness to learn Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. At this time, Novo Nordisk is not currently hiring individuals for this position who now or in the future would require sponsorship for employment visa status.
