Building Inspector - Flagsin Group The Inspector will perform technical inspections of all phases of building construction and improvements within the jurisdiction based on approved plans and permit conditions to ensure compliance with the approved plans, specifications and adopted building codes. Duties/Responsibilities: Perform site inspections to ensure compliance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, finishes, and site improvements. Track project changes during construction. Perform scheduled and unscheduled building inspections. Report building defects to contractors, designers, and owners. Assist with pre construction meetings with contractors. Conduct meetings with contractors. Write final inspection reports. Follow up on all open items. Assist with post-construction inspections. Assist with training of new inspectors. Assist with scheduling of inspections. Assist with creation of reports. Assist with follow-up actions. Assist in pre- and post-closing inspections. Interpret and apply statutes, rules, ordinances, codes and regulations. Interpret building, plumbing, mechanical and electrical regulations, and compare them with construction drawings, plans, maps and specifications. Identify construction deficiencies, code violations, and deviations from plans, regulations, and standard construction practices. Education and Experience: High school diploma, technical school education, or equivalent required; mathematics emphasis preferred. 4-5 years of experience working in Trades. Journeyman or Masters licensed in any of the following Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing. International Code Council (ICC) Residential Inspector certification is required in 30 days. May be required to obtain additional technical certifications; must possess a valid Driver’s License. The Company will assist the Employee in obtaining ICC certification.
