Certification Details BLS/BCLS Job Details The Charge Nurse is responsible for the smooth and efficient patient flow within the hospital. Delegates assignments and provides supervision for the support staff in accordance with their level of training and the patients acuity. Works in cooperation with medical providers to ensure the quality of patient care. The person doing this job is responsible for a variety of tasks that lead to a high level of customer satisfaction with respect and dignity. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include supervising nursing staff, developing work schedules, providing direct patient care, acting as a liaison, ensuring hospital policy compliance, participating in quality initiatives, conducting audits, monitoring performance metrics, managing staffing levels, overseeing admissions, transfers, discharges, leading emergency response efforts, assessing patient conditions, adhering to clinical standards, and collaborating on patient care plans. Job Requirements Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, proficiency in EMR and healthcare technologies, knowledge of nursing theories and practices, understanding of preventive medicine, skilled in respiratory therapy and EKG/telemetry monitoring, ability to direct and train staff, wide range of professional nursing services, operation of patient care equipment, overseeing safe handling policies, quality control, safety precautions adherence, prioritizing technical tasks, and able to handle physical or emotional stress situations. Additional Details Housing is a studio apartment offered at a rate paid for by the traveler. A non-refundable cleaning fee applies. Boat Tickets are provided. No personal automobiles are allowed on the Island.
