Currently seeking multiple Apache AH-64E Instructor/Operator Pilots to provide comprehensive simulator training, instruction, and operational support for aviation customers. Seeking Instructor/Operator Pilots to provide training in aircraft systems, mission scenarios, flight management system operations, emergency procedures, flight instruction, in-flight evaluation and examination services for the Apache AH-64E. The Compensation $134,000 - $145,000 Annual Base Salary Commensurate with Experience Plus Cost-of-Living-Adjustment (COLA) & Hardship Pay based on Location (Upwards of 30% Pay Increase) The Location 100% Fully Onsite Position based in Saudi Arabia Khamis Mushait, King Khalid Military City, and/or Al Qassim Aviation Institute (Option to Follow On after Initial 10-Month Contract) The Benefits Competitive Compensation Package including COLA & Hardship Pay based on Location Life Support Benefits including Apartment, Vehicle, Health Insurance & Vehicle Processing Covered Deployment, Return & Annual Travel Trip Home 4 Weeks Paid Vacation & OCONUS Holidays The Role Maintain liaison with all supported aviation customers to coordinate matters of simulator scheduling and training. Prepare simulator flight hour utilization and scheduling reports to submit to the Assisted Acquisition Contracting Officer Representative (AAS COR) and supported unit's designated representative. Support briefings and demonstrations of the simulators by the host nation. Conduct pre-flight and post-flight inspections of the simulator, scheduled and unscheduled inspections requiring an I/O as determined by the maintenance contractor, and operational readiness checks and simulator maintenance test flights. Report all noted deficiencies to the maintenance technician and AAS COR. Track individual flight hours from flight time entered on the simulator Department of the Army (DA) Form 2408-12 or countries’ format. Develop a flight simulator training Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) describing qualifications, responsibilities, and procedures necessary to ensure a comprehensive flight training and evaluation program. Provide instruction in aircraft systems, instrument flight, mission scenarios, flight management system operations, emergency procedures, fault insertion, Air Traffic Control (ATC) services, and controlling the weather of the simulator. Provide flight instruction, in-flight evaluation, examination, and instruction services. Train pilots to the U.S. Army or host nation standards in accordance with aviation publications and regulations. Check-in each scheduled aircrew upon their arrival to the facility, provide any requested mission scenario loads to include weather, current aircraft flight planning data, and any other information needed for completion of the mission. Ensure the aircrew has the aircraft-specific operational publications and information, required forms, and other flight planning materials for the flight training period. Utilize and maintain flight information publications and technical manuals as provided by the U.S. Government and host nation. Remain immediately available to the aircrew throughout the flight training period and review the pilots' flight planning for accuracy and critique/instruction prior to the training flight and answer questions. Conduct debriefings and grading of the aircrew in accordance with the applicable Aircrew Training Manual and provide appropriate comments relative to the flight and written comments in the Individual Aircrew Training Folder (IATF) for instrument check rides and any other training/evaluation events requiring written comments. Instruct the aircrew in techniques and corrective procedures to help avoid error repetition. Provide instruction on Day/Night Vision Goggles (NVG) contact, emergency fair traffic control services In Accordance With (IAW) Air Traffic Control Manual, FAA Order 7110.65 for terminal, domains-route, and approach and departure control services. Provide simulator I/O qualification training and evaluation for unit aviators as requested. Serve as the subject matter expert for the aircrew training manual, aviation procedures and techniques, and all others in the performance of their duties and stay knowledgeable on all changes in reference to publications, regulations and procedures, project guidelines, and progress of training. Recommend changes and improvements to existing courses and publications as required. Evaluate the performance of the flight simulators and recommend software and hardware improvements to the maintenance contractor and AAS COR. Provide existing, modified and/or contractor-developed training tutorials, courseware curricula and Programs of Instruction (POI) for military and civilian related subjects in English. The Background Profile Significant military experience Fort Novosel (Formerly Fort Rucker) Trained/Certified Instructor Pilot Prior AH-64E LCT experience and operation within the prior 3 years Instructor Operating Station (IOS) experience 5 years’ experience with supervisory and program management, managing large groups, and the simulation industry Ability to be based full-time in Saudi Arabia Khamis Mushait, King Khalid Military City, and/or Al Qassim Aviation Institute with the option to follow on after the initial 10-month contract The Ideal Background Exceptional writing, interpersonal communication, and problem-solving skills required Strong ability to communicate effectively with both internal management and customer stakeholders Outstanding capability to plan and manage schedules efficiently
