Job Title : Environmental Health & Safety Manager Schedule : Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm (must have a flexible schedule) Location : Stokesdale, NC Department : Safety Reports To : Plant Director Job Purpose Review the continuous improvement of EHS processes, programs and performance. Provide high quality support and advice to the Plant Manager, Line Managers and employees in all aspects of Safety, Health and Environment. Ensure that all health and environmental safety practices comply with regulatory and Ontex requirements. Ensure that all personnel working in the company perform their work with the best practices and safety conditions. Ensure that the company complies with environmental obligations and maintain the corresponding state and federal licenses in force. Ensure the security of the plant and CEDIS. Main Responsibilities and Key Tasks Directs the EHS department to ensure continuous improvement in safety, health, environment and energy. Develop, implement and manage the Health and Safety, Environment and Energy Management systems to achieve continuity in the business. Manage monitoring and compliance with respect to legal requirements related to health, safety and environmental and energy management systems in order to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and requirements. Manage the records and metrics of permissions, groups and regulations in order to provide various functions with key data that allow decision making. Work closely with other departments and challenge other departments to achieve awareness and reduce environmental and social impact. Directs risk assessments to reduce risks in the company. Direct investigations of incidents, conduct safety reviews prior to the start and investigate the effectiveness to avoid accidents and non-conformities. Approve investments and changes and have key functions in the changes and the implementation of safe work techniques (safety, Environment and Energy aspects) in order to guarantee legal compliance and reduce risks and dangers. Analyze the training needs related to Safety, Environment and Energy to ensure that all the requirements of the rules and legislations are met. Supervise, develop and advise the EHS Technician to ensure effectiveness in the department. Leads the security in the Stokesdale Plant and CEDIS. Actively participates in the company's social responsibility committee and enforces compliance with the code of ethics, as well as customer safety and environmental requirements. Educational Requirements Bachelor's degree (university or equivalent through experience) in engineering. Prior Work Requirements Knowledge of risk assessments. Experience with different EH&S projects. Knowledge of OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 - internal audits. Knowledge of energy management / monitoring. Knowledge of IT systems. At least 5 years of relevant experiences in a business environment. At least 3-5 years working as a Safety Manager in a manufacturing environment. Competencies Analytical and communication skills. Leadership ability to be able to promote projects and assume full responsibility. Project management in functional cross-functional teams. Be able to prioritize tasks. Job Complexity and Challenges Address changes in legislation. Deal with changes in production. Complexity of multiple management systems (ISO 14001, 50001 and OHSAS 18001). Technical aspects related to production, the environment, energy, health and safety. Managing the security of Stokesdale Plant and CEDIS. Accountability and Scope Factors Incorporate EHS management systems in all business processes. Communicate and guarantee the purchase and implementation within all functional areas, as well as at the group, divisional and local level. Create a learning environment with respect to EH&S. Review and adjust processes. Develop EHS as a key position for all functions. Proven achievements in safety leadership, participation of the work force in safety, behaviors, improvement of EHS performance. Keep good security in Stokesdale and CEDIS.
