We have 4 locations across Texas: Houston, The Woodlands, Austin and San Antonio. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Project Manager specializing in Hydrology and Hydraulics to join our growing civil engineering team. In this role, you will manage and lead projects related to water resources, stormwater management, floodplain analysis, hydraulic design, and other water-related infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hydrology and hydraulics, excellent project management skills, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, sustainable solutions for municipal, industrial, and governmental clients. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all project phases—from planning and design to implementation and completion—while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, client specifications, and environmental considerations. You will also collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and regulatory agencies to successfully execute complex water resource management projects. Responsibilities: Project Management & Leadership: Manage and oversee the full lifecycle of hydrology and hydraulics projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers, environmental scientists, and technical staff to execute water-related infrastructure projects, including stormwater management, floodplain modeling, drainage design, and water resource assessments. Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources, ensuring alignment with project goals and client expectations. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies, ensuring clear communication and the resolution of any project issues or concerns. Monitor project progress and address issues related to project scope, schedule, or budget to minimize delays and cost overruns. Prepare and deliver regular project updates and presentations to clients, stakeholders, and senior management. Hydrology & Hydraulics Expertise: Perform and oversee hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analysis for various projects, including floodplain mapping, watershed studies, stormwater system design, and flood control. Conduct hydrologic modeling (e.g., using HEC-HMS, SWMM, or other software) to assess runoff and design effective drainage solutions. Lead hydraulic design and analysis (e.g., using HEC-RAS, FLO-2D, or other software) for flood control, stormwater management, and infrastructure systems. Develop and review technical reports, including hydrological analysis, design calculations, stormwater management plans, and environmental impact assessments. Ensure that all designs and analyses meet local, state, and federal regulations, industry standards, and best practices in hydrology and hydraulics. Client Relations & Business Development: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and continuous business growth. Participate in business development activities, including identifying new project opportunities, preparing proposals, and engaging with potential clients. Lead or support the preparation of technical proposals, project bids, and presentations for new projects. Provide expertise and advice to clients regarding stormwater management, floodplain management, and water resources solutions. Regulatory Compliance & Environmental Stewardship: Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental and water resources regulations, including permitting processes, environmental impact assessments, and stormwater management guidelines. Stay current on industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to hydrology, hydraulics, and water resources management. Identify and incorporate sustainable design solutions that minimize environmental impacts and promote resource conservation in project design and implementation. Team Collaboration & Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers and staff, providing guidance on hydrologic modeling, hydraulic design, and project management best practices. Foster a collaborative team environment and promote knowledge-sharing among project team members. Ensure the technical quality of deliverables and design work, reviewing calculations, reports, and plans for accuracy and completeness. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred). Licensing/Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license required; certifications in water resources (e.g., LEED, CFM, PMP) are a plus. Experience: At least 5 years of experience in hydrology, hydraulics, and water resources engineering, with demonstrated expertise in project management and leadership. Software Proficiency: Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-HMS, SWMM, HEC-RAS, StormCAD, Civil 3D, FLO-2D) and GIS tools. Project Management Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management, while ensuring client satisfaction. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prepare technical reports, proposals, and deliver presentations to clients and stakeholders. Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations governing stormwater management, floodplain analysis, and water resource management.
