Bid Administration Prepare and maintain status of plan reproduction. Solicit and maintain communication with subcontractors and vendors, ensuring proper coverage. Complete detailed material take–offs. Read and understand project specifications. Prepare subcontractor bid packages. Transmit addenda and other bid information to subcontractors. Show creativity and resourcefulness to gain better pricing from subcontractors. Submit 100% of bids and budgets by the bid deadline. Enter all relevant information into the estimating software program. Project Knowledge Review bid requirements thoroughly and ask follow-up questions. Have thorough understanding of the scope for specific trades. Develop RFI's and clarifications, follow through with communications so that all applicable parties have timely and accurate design/project information. Perform a comprehensive "bid day" analysis and scoping of specific assigned trades. Understand how to fit subs to the size/scope of project. Create bid lists that fit the scope of job, ensuring the right subs for the project. Minimize exclusions. Develop value-engineering ideas on every bid. Project Turnover Properly turn over bid documents and sub buyout information to Project Management in a timely manner. Goal is 100% of awarded projects turned over within 24 hours of notification. Review drawings with Project Management team and highlight areas of concern. Review job cost with Project Management team and highlight any subs/material vendors that still need to be awarded. Complete project kick-off form to ensure compliance. QUALIFICATONS AND EXPERIENCE Minimum of 5 Years’ estimating experience Able to assemble detailed and accurate cost estimates with varying levels of information Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent negotiation skills Ability to effectively interface with clients Work effectively as an individual and as an integral part of a team Ability to multi-task Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, etc.) Proficient in Construction Estimating Software programs Degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred.
