JOB PURPOSE: At H3X, we are building the most advanced electric propulsion systems in the world to enable sustainable electric aircraft. At 12 kW/kg continuous, the HPDM family of integrated motor drives is a step change in electric propulsion technology and removes one of the main barriers blocking widespread proliferation of electric aircraft. We have several power classes of motors ranging from 30kW to 3MW and are selling to several markets including aviation, aerospace and defense, marine, and specialized ground vehicles. About the Role: We are looking to hire an Electronics Technician who will be in charge of PCB assembly, test setup, component management, and overseeing the H3X power electronics lab. The ideal candidate should have several years of experience with PCB assemblies, possess a strong attention to detail, and maintain a high standard of quality with a zero-tolerance approach to errors or subpar work. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot and resolve electronics manufacturing issues. Inspect H3X and outsourced parts and assemblies. Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities for manufacturability. Collaborate across departments to streamline processes and meet project timelines. Lead PCB assembly and rework efforts around various inverter designs. Applying wiring harness manufacturing processes. Setting up power electronics test systems and performing DVP&R evaluations. Collaborate with power electronics engineers on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) procedures. Coordinating operations within the H3X power electronics lab. Required Qualifications: High intelligence, high energy, and high integrity. High School Diploma or equivalent. 7 years of experience as an Electronics Technician assembling and troubleshooting complex PCBAs and wire harnesses. Excellent written and verbal communicator to effectively share knowledge and build the collective mindshare of the company. Organized and obsessive attention to detail: no room for oversight when making flight critical systems. Humble and open-minded: willingness to accept feedback, learn, and consistently improve upon yourself and the products for which you will be responsible. A high degree of emotional intelligence: ability to collaborate closely with coworkers in a respectful and empathetic manner. Fundamentally curious and motivated my first principles. This position requires access to CUI/ITAR/EAR controlled information. Preferred Qualifications ICP and/or NASA J-Standard certified. Additional education in advanced electronics. Previous experience in manufacturing launch of electronics components. Experience with ASO9001 and/or AS9100 standards. Experience working in a startup environment. Understanding of power electronic functions and high voltage systems. Knowledge of ESD controls.
