About the Company Provide a wide range of professional legal support services including drafting legal and business communications, summarizing documents, managing projects, and performing legal research. This position interacts with company attorneys, management, and corporate subsidiaries. This position will also serve as the administrative assistant for the Legal Department fulfilling traditional administrative assistant duties including scheduling meetings, preparing expense reports, sending and receiving mail, editing documents and making travel arrangements. About the Role Candidate Must have: Corporate in-house Paralegal & litigation experience preferably in Real Estate Business Responsibilities Manage various collaborative reporting and compliance activities, both independently and as a supporting role to paralegals and attorneys. Project management, data compilation and summary, drafting and proofing documents, and records maintenance. Draft periodic legal reports and summaries for management. Administer department document management software and multiple SharePoint sites, experience with Thomson Reuters Legal Tracker software preferred. Provide litigation support. Managing litigation holds. Researching answers to interrogatories, document requests, and subpoenas. Perform tracking and filing of complaints, motions, and orders. Experience using PACER desired. Provide administrative support to attorneys including scheduling meetings, preparing expense reports, sending and receiving mail, filing, making travel arrangements, and other projects as assigned. Provide support for acquisition activity including but not limited to performing due diligence, assisting in the preparation of transaction documents, obtaining certificates of good standing, and performing UCC searches. Perform legal and business research and communicate findings in memoranda. Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. Qualifications Education: 2 or 4-year degree, paralegal studies; or Paralegal certificate Experience: 3-4 years’ experience working as a paralegal in a law department within a corporation or law firm. Knowledge and Skills: Must have experience litigation process and procedure and PACER. Effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills, to synthesize and present information timely and accurately. Ability to work independently and responsibly and to prioritize multiple tasks and projects concurrently. Demonstrated ability to independently research, process, and professionally present information both verbally and in writing on a wide variety of topics. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, Internet use, and office equipment operation.
