Mechanical Superintendent

The HVAC Mechanical Superintendent will be responsible for leading multiple teams of HVAC mechanics, foremen, apprentices, and helpers in the demolition, retrofit or installation of Heating, Cooling and Ventilation systems. The role requires strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, excellent leadership, and communication skills, along with the ability to manage the projects that they are assigned, to completion, on time and within budget. It will require overseeing multiple jobs at times. Key Responsibilities: Working alongside field technicians to ensure timely and quality completion. Lead multiple teams of HVAC mechanics, apprentices, and helpers in the demolition, retrofit, and installation of HVAC systems. Initial hand-off and site survey of ALL jobs. Help manage projects from start to finish, including estimating ongoing job costs, assist PM with daily oversight, sending material orders over to procurement, and overseeing the work of the installation teams to ensure work is completed on time and within budget. Oversee the start-up, commissioning, troubleshooting and diagnosing of HVAC systems that were installed and ensure that warranty repairs are done when necessary. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in the installation of HVAC systems. Communication with GC, owner, and subs to efficiently complete all phases of the job. Provide training and mentoring to junior HVAC mechanics, apprentices, & helpers, and ensure all team members are working together efficiently and effectively. Communicate with customers to understand their needs and concerns. Maintain accurate records of equipment and materials, as needed. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. CFC Universal (preferred). 4-year HVACR apprenticeship Journeyman from accredited HVAC trade school (preferred). Minimum of 10 years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial HVAC systems. Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems and components, including air conditioning units, furnaces, ventilation systems, and ductwork. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead and manage a team effectively. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair complex HVAC system problems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical documents. Proficient with HVAC software and tools. Ability to provide on-site and remote training. Identify training needs for equipment on specialty projects. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to HVAC system installation and maintenance. Flexible schedule to include nights and weeks as needed. Valid driver's license. Drug screen and background check.
