Experienced Contract Analyst

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Contract Analyst to join our team, reporting directly to the General Counsel. This role will focus on contract management within our natural gas, natural gas liquids (NGLs), and crude oil marketing activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and assisting in the negotiation of contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards, and identifying potential risks. This position is critical to supporting the company’s growth in a fast-paced, dynamic energy market. Key Responsibilities: Contract Drafting and Review: Prepare, review, and amend contracts related to the purchase, sale, and transportation of natural gas, NGLs, and crude oil. Ensure that contracts are clear, accurate, and compliant with company policies and industry standards, including NAESB Base Contracts, special provisions, and crude oil purchase and sale contracts. Negotiation Support: Collaborate with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders to negotiate favorable contract terms, providing critical support in securing advantageous agreements for the company. Compliance Management: Monitor and ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements. Work closely with the legal and compliance teams to address and mitigate any potential issues. Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized contract records, ensuring timely updates and easy accessibility for internal teams. Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and legal departments, to resolve contract-related inquiries and challenges, providing expert guidance and support as needed. Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks within contract terms, recommend solutions or modifications to mitigate these risks, and ensure the company’s interests are protected. Reporting: Assist in preparing regular reports on contract performance, key metrics, and trends to provide insights for senior management. Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process optimization initiatives within the contract administration and management function to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Finance, or a related field. Experience: 3-5 years of experience in contract administration, with a strong preference for candidates who have experience in the energy commodity sector (natural gas, NGLs, and crude oil preferred). Skills & Knowledge: In-depth understanding of contract terms, legal documentation, and industry regulations related to energy commodities. Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) systems is a plus, with a working knowledge of TriplePoint being highly desirable. Other Qualifications: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an acute attention to detail. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of teams and stakeholders.
