Join us and lead our team performing operations and maintenance (O&M) of the Dane County landfill and recycling programs. Dane County’s Department of Waste & Renewables manages the County’s landfills, construction and demolition recycling facility, household hazardous waste collection facility, Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Plant and various recycling programs. Our Operations Manager is responsible for all aspects of daily operations including establishing and meeting landfill safety, productivity and environmental compliance objectives. Assigns and tracks work assignments, inventory, maintenance and inspections in the computerized maintenance monitoring system (CMMS). Develops and tracks key performance indicators such as tonnage, compaction, labor hours, customer feedback, equipment utilization, safety incidents, work order completion, daily cover, and expenses. Leads the training, enforcement and development of safety policies and procedures. Schedules, coordinates and manages personnel, equipment and other capital assets. Maintains and approves records of time, equipment, and material costs. Collects and analyzes equipment needs and manages capital assets. Administers and coordinates the purchase, setup, and maintenance of new equipment, various materials, and other items for the department. Reviews and interprets blueprints, drawings, construction plans and documentation. Maintains an effective working relationship with internal and external personnel and agencies. Oversees building and grounds maintenance. Assists, advises and informs the director and deputy director of major issues.
