Quality Assurance Manager Job Summary: The Quality Manager will oversee and manage all quality assurance and control activities within the production facility, ensuring that meat and protein products meet both internal and external quality standards. This includes managing USDA regulations, conducting audits, and leading continuous improvement initiatives across all stages of production. The role will require a hands-on approach to maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient food processing environment. Key Responsibilities: Ensure all products are produced in accordance with USDA regulations, company policies, and industry standards. Maintain and monitor quality systems to ensure adherence to food safety and quality standards, including HACCP, FSMA, and GMP. Stay updated on USDA guidelines, food safety regulations, and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance and reporting. Lead internal and external audits related to USDA and other regulatory bodies. Oversee product testing, inspections, and evaluations to confirm the quality of incoming raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods. Monitor critical control points (CCPs) within the production process. Identify, investigate, and address quality issues and deviations from product specifications. Manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and ensure proper documentation and follow-up. Maintain accurate records related to quality control, inspections, audits, and non-conformances. Prepare and present quality performance reports to management and regulatory bodies. Work with suppliers to ensure the quality of raw materials meets company and regulatory requirements. Conduct supplier audits and assessments as needed. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Quality Management, Food Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Quality Assurance or Quality Management role within the meat or protein production industry. In-depth knowledge of USDA regulations, including FSIS, HACCP, and USDA inspection processes. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and implement corrective actions. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present to management and external auditors. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in quality management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
