In doing so, DPN wages a fight for everyone because the prison industrial complex forms an imaginative limit on everyone’s capacity to envision freedom and liberation. The Director of Campaign and Organizing is a senior leadership role responsible for building and managing high-performing teams, designing and leading strategic campaigns, and organizing efforts that will drive impactful change and victories in the current and future political landscapes at the local, state, and national levels. The Director of Campaign and Organizing is expected to know the political landscape and be a respected movement leader who knows and loves the power of deep, interpersonal, and relational organizing and can easily hold national spaces. This role reports directly to the Executive Directors, co-developing and implementing the vision for DPN campaigns. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Organizational Leadership · Work collaboratively and consistently with leadership to lead strategic campaign priorities and capitalize on unanticipated opportunities in campaign spaces · Drive organizational growth by ensuring that all DPN and Coalitions’ campaign efforts align with DPN abolitionist and movement-building goals · Strategically develop and implement 501(c)(4) goals in coordination with Dignity and Power Now Co-Executive Directors, ensuring full integration into the broader organizational agenda · Regularly update the Executive Directors on the progress of the organizing and campaign efforts, ensuring continuous alignment with DPN organizational strategy. · Lead fundraising initiatives to meet annual budget goals, collaborating with key leadership on key funding efforts · Provide leadership, guidance, and accountability to both internal teams and external coalition partners, ensuring campaign success · Act as DPN’s primary representative in local, state, and national coalitions that support abolitionist goals, maintaining high-level political alignment · Take charge of DPN’s work across multiple states, ensuring campaign effectiveness and political coherence in various arenas. · Coordinate state-level campaigns, serving as the convener of partners in key regions to ensure issue campaign success · Provide weekly oversight and support to a diverse team of leaders and organizers through supervision, shadowing, and targeted coaching. · Liaise with the development team to ensure campaign progress meets grant requirements and donor expectations · Ensure all strategies, tactics, and campaigns are conducted with a racial justice framework deeply rooted in abolitionist principles. Leadership and Development: · Provide direct, ongoing leadership, coaching, and supervision to campaign teams, fostering immediate performance and long-term growth. · Lead staff in developing and executing high-impact organizing campaigns, focusing on advancing power-building goals across local, statewide, and national arenas · Strategically identify and cultivate professional development opportunities for staff, promoting growth in new roles and responsibilities · Design and implement management and coaching structures that elevate the skills and leadership abilities of the campaign teams · Lead and train staff in identifying, recruiting, and developing key leaders to successfully build coalitions, implement policy goals, and base build. · Oversee day-to-day organizing projects at DPN, ensuring seamless integration of political and community organizing efforts into the teams’ workflow · Provide troubleshooting and support for staff on complex assignments, ensuring problem-solving and performance Communications and Partnerships · Build and maintain key relationships with leaders, stakeholders, and partner organizations, including policy groups, advocacy organizations, and government staffers, ensuring alignment with DPN's goals. · Represent DPN at Coalition tables, cultivating and sustaining relationships with allies critical to campaign success · Collaborate with communication and development leadership to ensure campaign goals align with organizational messaging strategies, funding opportunities, and grant deliverables. · Work with the virtual action team to guide strategy priorities, ensuring statewide and national visibility and growth. Desired Qualities: · Minimum of five years of experience designing and leading successful campaigns particularly, within communities of color or distributed organizing contexts. · Proven leadership in uplifting, motivating, and inspiring team members, fostering · to develop into leaders. · Experience supporting and working closely with individuals who have experienced incarceration, with a deep understanding of the complexities involved. · At least three years of experience in managing and supervising teams, with a focus on accountability and growth · A collaborative leader capable of managing multiple priorities and navigating a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. · Strong organizational skills with proven ability to develop and implement systems that promote planning, execution, and evaluation of workflows. · Proficiency with Mac Operating Systems, Google Suite, and MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) · Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for making insightful and impactful decisions. · Ability to operate independently, develop work plans, and exercise sound judgment with minimal supervision Job Type: Full-time Pay: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Schedule: Monday to Friday Weekends as needed Directly impacted people are encouraged to apply.
