The Process Engineer will lead the development and implementation of process improvement projects and advanced troubleshooting techniques. The Process Engineer is responsible for assisting the overall management of the production process, including evaluating the performance of processes and equipment and proposing solutions to improve the plant’s performance metrics such as yield and efficiency. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Create, lead, and aid in the development of process improvement projects. Assist in overall production management. Identify process, equipment, or technology weaknesses and propose solutions. Utilize problem solving techniques such as Six Sigma methodologies. Develop new processes and workflows in pursuit of improving the plant’s performance metrics such as yield and efficiency. Provide instruction for successful implementation of changes. Real-time troubleshooting of ongoing production problems - communicate/educate solutions to problems to operating staff. Track and report production metrics; analyze production data to evaluate the effectiveness of current processes or proposed changes. Implement quality improvements when necessary. Participate in cross-functional teams in the pursuit of problem-solving and mistake-proofing quality problems. Assist in the development and implementation of environmental and safety corrective actions. Assist with preparation and participation in customer surveys resulting in desired approvals. Responsible for following all internal and OSHA-required safety procedures. Able to write routine reports and correspondence. Able to speak effectively before groups of customers, suppliers, and employees of the organization. Maintains adherence to company policies, safety/ergonomic standards, and good housekeeping practices. Protect our customers to ensure each product meets established quality standards of zero-conformances. Other duties as assigned by management. Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline required. Previous experience in Process or Production Engineering in a manufacturing environment. Experience with formal problem-solving tools such as 8D, Six Sigma, Shainin, or other tools common to the Polymer Industry required. Exposure to statistical data analysis and/or problem-solving techniques, such as SPC. Preferred/Desired: A minimum of 1-2 years of Process or Production Engineering. Experience using Minitab software and /or data analysis tools required. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in polymer manufacturing. Have a strong desire for personal and professional development.
