Vice President of Fire Protection - Commercial & Industrial Construction - Milwaukee, WI Gryphon Oakwood are exclusively partnered on a Vice President of Fire Protection role for a leading MEP construction contractor in the upper-Midwest. The role will lead the Fire Protection department including the installation, service, sales and design teams. Responsibilities: Develops and implements strategic project plans ensuring alignment with schedules, budgets, and project scope. Provides expert guidance and ensures adherence to all relevant codes, standards, and unique project specifications. Proactively identifies and mitigates potential risks impacting costs, timelines, and resource allocation. Directs project financial management by tracking expenditures, analyzing progress reports, and adjusting project plans to optimize efficiency. Champions exceptional customer service by fostering responsive, concise, and professional communication with all stakeholders. Empowers and oversees superintendents in delivering timely responses and updates to customer concerns. Provides strategic leadership at pre-construction meetings and critical project milestones. Represents the company as a licensed professional during inspections, as required. Collaborates with the Construction Project Coordinator on critical aspects including material scheduling, deliveries, and inspections. Manages the procurement process by soliciting fabrication quotes, reviewing material costs, and ensuring budget accuracy. Conducts ongoing financial analysis by preparing monthly "Cost to Complete" reports for informed decision-making. Forges strong cross-functional partnerships with Superintendents, Administrators, Coordinators, Designers, and Estimators to guarantee project success. Drives seamless project handoff by coordinating transitions between departments. Partners with the Construction Operations Manager in long-range project planning and resource allocation. Qualifications: Minimum of 10 years of experience leading fire protection construction projects and teams. Demonstrated ability to interpret complex building documents including architectural, mechanical, and electrical schematics. Proven track record of managing multiple priorities and delivering projects on time. Exceptional communication skills with a focus on clear and concise delivery to both internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in advanced MS Office Suite applications to manage workflows and data analysis. Highly organized and detail-oriented with a strong sense of self-motivation. Exceptional interpersonal skills for navigating difficult conversations with employees and customers alike. In-depth knowledge of NFPA standards for fire safety compliance.
