DCS/PLC Engineering Supervisor Location: Clean Harbors - Aragonite, UT | Full-Time | On-site About Us Clean Harbors is North America's leading provider of environmental and industrial services. Position Overview We're seeking an experienced DCS/PLC Engineering Supervisor to lead our control systems team. You'll be responsible for overseeing the design, commissioning, and operations of our Aragonite control systems and associated process control networks. This role combines technical expertise with leadership skills to ensure optimal facility performance while maintaining our commitment to safety. What You'll Drive Oversee critical automation systems including Rockwell, ABB, Wonderware suite, and Canary Historian Drive continuous improvement in control system infrastructure Manage project implementations from conception through commissioning Ensure facility safety through robust control system design and maintenance Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and contractors to optimize system performance Essential Responsibilities Leadership & Management Direct the Control Systems team to ensure operational readiness Manage system implementation projects and capital improvements Coordinate with I&E team for instrumentation repairs and calibrations Oversee contractor activities and technical project execution Develop and maintain critical spare parts inventory strategies Technical Oversight Lead PLC/DCS programming and system architecture design Implement logic changes to enhance plant reliability Maintain site historians and backup systems Oversee network infrastructure and cybersecurity measures Drive standardization of control system practices Manage system documentation and change control Safety & Compliance Champion our "Safety First" culture in all activities Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements Lead risk assessments for system modifications Maintain safety instrumented systems integrity Implement robust MOC (Management of Change) processes What You'll Need Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Chemical, or Automation preferred) 5 years of control system experience Extensive knowledge of Allen Bradley and ABB DCS platforms Experience with safety instrumented systems Strong project management capabilities Proven leadership experience Technical Skills Proficiency in: PLC programming (ControlLogix, RSLogix 5000) DCS configuration (ABB 800xa) HMI development Industrial networks Process control optimization Safety system design Preferred Qualifications ISA/NIST cybersecurity framework knowledge Experience with historian systems VMware system administration Process industry background Professional Engineering license What We Offer Competitive base salary Comprehensive benefits after 30 days Professional development opportunities Tuition reimbursement Career growth potential 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Health, dental, and vision insurance Life and disability insurance Work Environment Primary location: Aragonite facility May require off-hours support Some travel to other facilities Dynamic, fast-paced environment Safety-focused culture Why Clean Harbors?
