Job Title: Central Procurement Specialist Location: The Woodlands, TX (Hybrid) Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Contract Length: 1 Year Job at a Glance The Central Procurement Specialist is responsible for procuring materials and goods to meet business demands using advanced supply chain and purchasing expertise. This role involves collaboration with stakeholders, suppliers, and supply chain teams to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery. The specialist evaluates material requests, identifies appropriate sourcing channels, and ensures adherence to commercial terms, while providing reporting and expediting as required. Responsibilities Procurement Activities: Process Requests for Quotations (RFQ) and ensure accurate specifications, descriptions, schedules, and quality requirements. Execute detailed purchase order documents and manage purchase-to-pay activities. Identify and evaluate suppliers, including diverse suppliers, to secure competitive and advantageous offerings. Issue Resolution: Address and resolve invoice discrepancies, including Over, Short, Damaged, or Discrepant issues. Cost Savings and Efficiency: Deliver documented cost savings through competitive bidding, direct negotiations, and cost avoidance. Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to proactively address material needs. Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders and suppliers within the Central Procurement Group. Supplier Management: Establish and maintain professional, ethical relationships with suppliers, ensuring adherence to procurement procedures and standards. Communication and Reporting: Maintain open communication channels between suppliers, stakeholders, and supply chain teams to provide prompt and accurate updates. Qualifications Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience. Advanced knowledge of supply chain and procurement processes, preferably in a corporate or industrial setting. Technical Skills: Proficient in procurement platforms and source-to-settlement systems. Advanced understanding of commercial management processes, including supplier diversity and safety metrics. Knowledge of market conditions and the ability to derive competitive insights. Skilled in document management and control standards, including maintaining electronic and hard copy records. Core Competencies: Strong negotiation and relationship management skills. Ability to handle complex purchase orders and resolve invoice exceptions. Knowledge of enterprise-wide purchasing requirements, including fleet materials for industries like nuclear and power generation.
