Job Title: Plumber Helper Job Type: Full time/Direct Hire Location: Kuwait Clearance: Secret Clearance; US National Education: High school diploma / GED equivalent preferred Job Description: As a Plumber Helper, you will play a vital role in assisting with the installation and maintenance of plumbing systems. Your duties will involve locating and marking the position of pipes and pipe connections, cutting openings in walls and floors, and assisting with pipe cutting and threading under journeyman supervision. Additionally, you will bend pipes to required angles, assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of various materials, and join pipes using appropriate methods. You will also assist in filling pipe systems with water or air and reading pressure gauges to ensure proper functioning. Key Responsibilities: Locate and mark positions of pipes and pipe connections, as well as passage holes for pipes in walls and floors, using ruler, spirit level, and plumb bob. Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings using hand tools and power tools. Assist with cutting and threading of pipes using pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe-threading machine under journeyman supervision. Bend pipes to required angles by using a pipe-bending machine or by placing pipes over a block and bending them by hand. Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals such as iron, steel, brass, and lead, as well as nonmetals such as glass, vitrified clay, and plastic, using hand tools and power tools. Join pipes using screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and calk joints. Fill pipe systems with water or air and read pressure gauges to determine whether the system is leaking. Assist in the installation and repair of plumbing fixtures such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, and water softeners. Assist in repairing and maintaining plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burst pipes, and opening clogged drains. Requirements: Secret Clearance; Valid US Passport High school diploma / GED equivalent preferred Six (6) months to one (1) year related experience Ability to work under constant supervision Strong teamwork and communication skills Ability to follow instructions and learn from experienced craft workers
