Electrical Designer

Electrical Designer Fulltime Charlotte, NC 28206 Job Description: This position provides technical and design services in support of electrical design projects to produce construction drawings and specifications for our clients. Responsibilities include: Participating in the design effort on large and small projects. Coordination with engineering and other disciplines on the project team. Ability to provide calculations including lighting, voltage drop, and load calculations Follow company standards in creation of electrical drawings. Provide field support including field verifications for retrofit applications, as-built documentation, and Construction Administration. From project scope, develop electrical construction drawings (i.e. exterior lighting, interior lighting, power plans, systems plans, fire alarm system plans, grounding systems, details, single lines/riser diagrams and panel schedules). Willingness to travel for projects. Required Experience: High School diploma or Associates Degree with adequate drafting experience or a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. 5 plus years of experience in Electrical Design including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, grounding, coordination/arc flash studies Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code, Building Codes, and Energy Codes. Experience in Federal/Municipal Government, Healthcare or Aviation preferred but not required. Must know REVIT, AutoCAD, and Visual Lighting design software. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software. Must be able to work as part of a team and balance multiple projects. Must be self-motivated and work independently to complete work assignments. Must be a US Citizen and have a valid driver’s license.
