Director Supply Chain Job Summary & Essential Functions Provide vision and leadership for designing, developing, and implementing materials management and customer relationship programs and policies that create business value and align with company goals. Areas of responsibility include Materials Management, Purchasing, and Quoting. Ensure effective supplier strategies are developed and implemented to meet customers’ expectations while maximizing inventory turns Develop supplier selection and qualification methods to ensure delivery of quality products on time Negotiate supplier contracts and pricing to obtain components at the best value Provide leadership for and development of direct reports by establishing priorities, accountabilities and allocating resources Establish specific departmental goals, objectives, and action plans to support facility goals and schedules Lead the development of strategic plans to support the future direction of department Participate in the budgeting process including providing recommendations and projections for resources and capital expenditures. Provide input for recruiting, selection, compensation, promotions, terminations, and transfers Monitor key performance indicators; material efficiency, Supplier OTD and Supplier quality and act as necessary to correct discrepancies Create a positive work environment and set the standard for interdepartmental cooperation Complete weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to management Adhere to the General Requirements of Team Members Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Ability to negotiate all aspects of a business contract with suppliers Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes Advanced level in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook); MRP/ERP Strong planning and organizational skills including the ability to initiate, prioritize, and allocate resources Ability to effectively communicate in all forms with others inside and outside the organization Ability to negotiate and manage conflict tactfully and professionally Strong leadership and people management skills including team building, mentoring, and coaching Strong decision-making skills; utilizing sound judgement and thorough processes Ability to problem solve issues involving multiple variables and limited standardization Ability to be creative and innovative with approaches to solutions and solving complex problems Ability to multitask efficiently and adapt within a rapidly changing environment Ability to communicate with customers projecting the company image to attract business Abilities listed in General Requirements of Team Members Required Experience & Education Bachelor's degree in related field Minimum 10 years of progressive relevant job experience with 5 years of supervisory experience Previous experience in a manufacturing environment Project management including planning, budgeting, and allocating of resources ISO environment
