SCHOOL PROFILE The SEED School of Maryland is a statewide, public, college-preparatory boarding school that opened in August 2008. The School educates and boards 400 students in grades six through twelve. The SEED School is an extraordinary educational opportunity for students across the state to receive a tuition-free, college-preparatory, boarding education. In the same token The SEED School of Maryland runs a tutoring intervention program which is a state funded program, under CARES Act, oversee by MSDE, designed to provide extended learning and tutoring opportunities to students. The tutoring intervention program will be open after school for planned academics tutoring activities, Monday through Thursday, and in some cases weekends if need be. General Summary: The Math Teacher will design, develop, and deliver quality lesson plans and curricula that adhere to national and school guidelines. Providing suitable assessments and delivering helpful feedback to students, parents, and other teachers. Job Description: Planning and instructing lessons on math topics, such as Pre Algebra, Alegra I, Geometry, Algebra II, or Statistics Enforcing classroom management and school administrative policies Assessing and accommodating students learning needs and styles Using technology to deliver lessons and other educational materials Communicating effectively with students, parents, and staff Preparing students for standardized math and post-secondary entrance tests Grading students assignments, tests and exams Evaluate each student’s progress in math knowledge and skills. Selects and requisitions books, instructional aids, and supplies; maintains required inventory records. Supervise daily and check homework, ensure students’ academic progress, and serve as a primary point of contact for parents. Regularly assess student mastery of key skills and concepts and use this data to differentiate instruction to meet student needs. Participates in faculty committees and sponsorship of student activities. Participates cooperatively with the appropriate administrator(s) to develop the method by which he/she will be evaluated in conformance with district guidelines. Performs other comparable duties of a like or similar nature apparent or as assigned. Qualifications: The MS/ US Math Teacher will meet all qualifications and behavior standards as set by the State of Maryland authority. In accordance with certification requirements and performance expectations, all classroom teachers shall meet the following employment criteria. MSDE Certification in Math preferred or ability to obtain a conditional license. Successful completion of a background check Bachelor's Degree Reports to: Assistant Principal
