Title: Emergency CDL Operators State Role Title: Transportation Operator II Hiring Range: $35.00 to $47.18 per hour Pay Band: 2 Agency: VA Dept of Transportation Location: Culpeper District Complex Agency Website: www.virginiadot.org/jobs Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties VDOT's Culpeper District is seeking CDL operators to be on-call during inclement weather within Culpeper, Fauquier, Rappahannock, Albemarle, Greene, Madison, Fluvanna, Louisa, and Orange counties. You will operate equipment such as dump trucks, front-end loaders, backhoes, tractors, and motor graders to clear snow and ice from roadways. Operators will perform manual labor, as needed, to clear debris from roads and load materials. Performance of these duties will require work outside of normal business hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. Positions are seasonal for the winter with no state benefits available. Minimum Qualifications • Valid commercial driver’s license. • Experience performing physically demanding manual labor. • Experience operating equipment. Additional Considerations •Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, day or night. •Experience performing snow removal with equipment. Therefore, advertised rates of pay may or may not align with the Commonwealth pay bands.
