Description Project Accountant Overview The Project Accountant is the lead person to support onsite/offsite project accounting. As an integral part of the accounting team, the Project Accountant will provide financial services to their assigned projects including contract review, billings, job cost reporting, subcontractor and general condition payments, and cash reporting. The position acts as a consultant to each Project Manager, our internal customers. This is an in-office position and will not have remote flexibility. Responsibilities Manages the entire monthly invoicing process on the project which includes working with the company project team to obtain all necessary billing details and requirements. Understands the entire project contract, including insurance, bonding requirements, job budget, billing deadlines, close out process, etc. Manages the job tracker spreadsheet, and other required internal documents. Builds relationships with project management team to support the project. Prepares for and contributes to the monthly WIP meeting process. Prepares any necessary documentation for specific projects. Presents in the monthly Accounts Receivable review for specific projects. Takes responsibility for collections of all projects. Maintains job cost report integrity. Manages all monthly project specific reconciliations. Takes responsibility for all job-related subcontractor compliance, billings and approvals. Manages the Paid When Paid payment batches. Manages the entire Preliminary Notice and Lien Release process for the project. Continuously improves the entire Project Accounting process. Supports other Project Accountants. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration is preferred. Two years or more of related experience required, preferably in the construction industry. Ability to multitask. Excellent communication skills to build relationships with Project Managers (internal) and customer teams (external). Must have good time management skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Vista ERP system. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
