Business Development Manager (BDM) – (Athens, GA) Company Summary: Phigenics provides independent expert guidance and advanced technologies to our clients to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and overall safety of water systems. Our clients include a diverse mix of industry leaders in healthcare, hospitality, government, higher education, retail, and manufacturing facilities. Position Summary: The Southeast Region Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for supporting the Regional Manager (RM) and the rest of the Southeast Team to identify and acquire new clients throughout the greater Charlotte, NC area, to support all existing Southeast Region client operations, and to ensure sales, revenue, forecasting, internal operations, and customer satisfaction goals are met. The BDM will have experience in successfully providing reliable, accurate, and organized customer account management, water management programs and documentation, sample collection, and equipment maintenance services and engaging with customers knowledgeably and professionally. The BDM must professionally manage client accounts, respond quickly to client needs and issues, solve complex problems, accurately maintain client data, and successfully maintain client relationships. This is a fully remote work position with a preferred location of Athens, GA Responsibilities: Sales Maintain and expand existing customer relationships and accounts Identify and conduct sales calls and develop relationships with potential clients Provide sales forecasts Present proposals to potential and existing clients Conduct annual business review meetings Differentiate and relate Phigenics services within a client account and with competitors Understand, explain, and exhibit Phigenic's Purpose, Values, and Strategy Technical – Contracts / Procurement Understand building water systems and infrastructure Understand water chemistry Be able to explain to potential clients how they may obtain Phigenics services Assist in the development of Water Management Programs (for safety and efficiency) Be able to explain how Phigenics equipment can meet clients’ requirements Understand procurement processes Read, understand, and implement contract requirements Manage and provide water management consulting, testing, and equipment services Facilitate Water Management Team meetings Collect, assimilate, and analyze data in order to facilitate and document WMT meetings, WMP changes, and client decisions and provide recommendations on remediation, corrective actions, and WMP adjustments. Manage sample collectors and equipment service technicians as required to deliver contracted services. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Understand building water systems, boiler systems, cooling towers/chiller systems, energy efficiency, utility engineering, and how to calculate ROIs Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong people skills, including the ability to develop and maintain relationships with cross-functional team members. Excellent presentation and facilitation skills Ability to train and motivate other Phigenics employees as well as client personnel in sample collection and equipment service. Self-motivated and directed. “Can do” attitude. A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace Ability to adapt to a fast-paced continually changing business and work environment while managing multiple priorities. Understand and use MS Office, Gmail, Hubspot, and various Google applications. Training and Experience: A Bachelor’s degree is required. Chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, chemistry, biochemistry, or microbiology preferred. 2 – 5 years of job experience preferred; water-related experience in facilities, engineering, or the sciences. Customer and/or sales experience is preferred. The position requires successful completion of a 90-day training course that includes fieldwork and online self-study. Work Environment / Travel: The position requires traveling to client sites in Athens, GA and throughout the state (Savannah, Atlanta, Columbus, Augusta, Columbia, SC, etc) leading water management team meetings, servicing equipment, and collecting water samples. Some overnight travel will be involved. The majority of travel is within a 2-5 hr travel. Dress is normally a coat and tie or female equivalent. Wearing PPE is sometimes required. The position often requires a great deal of walking around client sites, may include climbing stairs or ladders, and may require lifting up to 25 pounds.
