Locum Physician (MD/DO) - Emergency Medicine in Florida

Job Title: Emergency Medicine Physician Job Specialty: Emergency Medicine Job Duration: Until new hires are found, possibly until Summer 2025 Shift: - Main ER: 6a-4p; 9a-8p; 11a-11p; 4p-3a; 8p-7a, with 2-3 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and 6-8 Emergency Medicine (EM) residents - Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED) ER: 6a-6p; 6p-6a Doctor; 10a-10p APP; 2p-12a EM Resident Guaranteed Hours: N/A Experience: Emergency Medicine residency trained, board certified/board eligible License: Valid medical practice license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS Must-Have: - EM residency trained - Board certification/eligibility in Emergency Medicine Job Description: - Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to a variety of patients in a non-trauma, comprehensive stroke, and STEMI center. - Collaborate with a fully staffed team including ED nurses, technicians, APPs, emergency medicine residents, and additional off-service residents. - Conduct typical emergency medicine procedures. - Participate in a flexible and fair scheduling system that includes a mixture of day and night shifts on weekdays and weekends. - Manage an average patient census of 150 per day in the main ER and 60 per day in the FSED. - Work in a facility with 250 hospital beds, 43 ER beds, and a 35% admission rate. - Engage in a shadow shift that includes orientation and electronic medical record (EMR) training if needed. - Work alongside 2-3 EM physicians per shift with supportive APPs and residents. - No call responsibilities are required. - Prepare case logs as needed for credentialing, demonstrating 24 months of previous experience.
