Position Description The Director of Tax and Treasury will oversee the tax and treasury functions within the North America organization (US, Canada and Mexico). This role is critical in ensuring compliance with tax regulations, financial statement reporting and disclosure of tax positions in accordance with IFRS for the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in tax compliance, tax planning and reporting, acquisition due diligence, structuring and integration and an appreciation for treasury management. Key Responsibilities: Manage the company’s Tax department, including federal, state, and local direct and indirect tax regulations. Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. Identify and implement tax optimization strategies in support of the Company’s ongoing and new business initiatives. Manage and review the calculation of the Company’s tax provision on a quarterly and annual basis, working closely with the US and HQ Accounting departments regarding financial statement tax disclosures. Research complex income and commodity tax issues and develop recommendations. Oversee preparation of annual tax documentation of transfer prices and advise business units on transfer pricing policies Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements and manage audit scopes and relationships with regulatory bodies, external tax advisors and auditors. Manage and review the preparation and filing of all tax returns, including income, sales, and property taxes. Lead acquisition diligence, structuring, and integration from a tax perspective. Lead treasury operations, including cash management and liquidity planning. Provide strategic advice to senior management on tax and treasury matters. Stay updated and anticipate changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the Company. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 6, including 4 direct reports. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or taxation. Advanced degree strongly preferred. In depth proven experience with federal, state, and local direct and indirect tax regulations, as well as Tax accounting under US GAAP and IFRS. Demonstrated technical expertise and problem-solving capabilities. Minimum of 10 years of corporate or large public accounting tax experience. Merger and Acquisition diligence, structuring and integration experience. Required Skills and Competencies: In-depth knowledge of US tax laws and regulation, and tax accounting. Self-starter that thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities effectively. Ability to provide both verbal and written information clearly, succinctly, and persuasively, as well as ability to influence others. Capacity to understand problems and issues in the context of the bigger picture and understand relationships among subcomponents. Ability to use research methods effectively, including data collection, diagnostic, and analytical skills. Ability to think strategically and provide forward-looking insights and recommendations. Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop a team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey complex information to various stakeholders. High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work. Ability to prioritize and multitask daily processes/projects to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Working Conditions: Onsite – with the flexibility to work from home one day per week. Physical Demands – Continuously sitting for prolonged periods, as the job is administrative in nature. Visual/Sensory – This position requires attention to detail, requiring attention with one or two senses at a time. Work Environment – Work and environment fasted paced, requiring ability to remain focused under pressure.
