We are an Equal Opportunity Employer Description of Duties Title: Design Assistant Classification: Non-Exempt Hourly Range: $21.00-$23.00/hr Location: Van Nuys, CA (HQ) Schedule: Hybrid, Monday through Friday (in office a minimum of 4 days/week) DÔEN is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Design Assistant to join our team. Our ideal candidate enjoys working in a team environment with a desire to deliver great product, while possessing strong verbal and written communications skills. The responsibilities below show a glimpse into the role's key functions and the impactful contributions this position makes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Work with Design Director & Design Team for inspiration/design related tasks and special projects as needed Assist in research for seasonal concept development, fabrics, trims & color Assist in creating & preparing Design presentations weekly and seasonally Manage, update, distribute, line-sheets & other cross functional documents while liaising between Design and Development Teams Name and number styles, as well as facilitate style Pass-Offs to Technical Design Team Research and name styles, seasonal colors, artworks and embroideries in a timely manner Create flats or construction detail sketches for Pass-Offs when necessary Create color CADS/embroidery layouts/assist with pitching colors for artworks Manage communication of CADS/print placement/embroidery placement to Development team throughout the design process Assist in updating sketches as needed and keeping sketch folders orderly and up to date Work on design and concept for updates to best-selling styles Assist Design Team with organization and filing for vintage archive samples and submits Build Collaborative relationships cross-functionally with Development Teams and beyond Qualifications: Degree in apparel or fashion (2-4 year program) Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) Strong organizational skills and attention to product detail Sketching skills required Pattern/Technical Design knowledge Color sensitivity Base knowledge of fabrics, embellishments and wash/dye processes Meticulous attention to detail and organization Able to take direction, while also working independently with minimal supervision Strong follow-through to completion on all given tasks Strong planning and organization skills with a sense of priority for deadlines and attention to detail Ability to remain flexible and adaptable in a fast paced and rapidly growing company Strong appetite for learning and working closely with cross-functional team members Ability to foster an inclusive and respectful working environment Physical Requirements Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodation Periods sitting at a desk, typing, sketching and working on a computer Able to lift/move/push/pull objects up to 25 lbs Able to walk, sit and stand for periods of time Able to operate equipment such as computers, copy machines, phones Must be able to access various areas of a given location Total Rewards Package Paid vacation, sick time, and holidays A fun-filled, fast-paced work environment Healthcare, Vision, Dental 401k with company match Compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
