Distribution Manager

Direct all policy, procedure, and operational aspects of the distribution center to safely achieve company goals. Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of inventory and finished goods. Manage inventory control, shipping and receiving, and warehouse operations. Provide oversight to project improvement initiatives and capital expenditures as well as budget adherence. Essential Job Duties: Provide effective leadership of others to ensure efficient distribution operations and adherence to policy, procedure, and process excellence. Ensure well-being of associates through compliance and all safety and Hazmat rules and regulations, legal regulations, and human resources policies across multiple shifts. Manage key performance indicators to include safety, productivity, budget adherence and inventory control. Foster an environment which is conducive to process improvement initiatives. Control costs through process improvement initiatives, productivity of personnel, efficient utilization of space and protection of stores materials. Ensure protection and accuracy of inventory by adhering to all inventory control processes and procedures. Ensure facility employees receive appropriate training in all aspects of daily performance. Oversee compliance with corporate policies and procedures as well as Federal, State, and local laws and statutes. Actively participate in facility budget development and execution. Interface with senior leadership on a regular basis regarding facility performance as well as tactical and strategic opportunities. Collaborate across all departments to drive optimal productivity - foster an environment in which diverse backgrounds are respected and valued. Partner with Human Resources to recruit, retain and develop personnel. Ensure appropriate staffing levels by effectively forecasting resources needed to meet service, financial and operational requirements. Cultivate an environment of coaching and mentoring direct reports. Manage scheduling and shipments of glass, moldings and supplies to branches and customers. Assure that warehouse personnel have sufficient tools and materials for packing. Schedule maintenance and service on warehouse equipment. Responsible for physical maintenance of warehouse. Cooperate with front office picking parts as needed. Assist with inventory cycle counts. Responsible for tractor/trailer personnel, maintenance and scheduling. On 24-hour call with security system provider. Perform other duties as needed. Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to set priorities and manage a variety of job responsibilities. Exhibits business judgment and ability to drive change throughout an organization. Commitment to safety and quality. Knowledge of all regulations related to transportation. Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (HighJump and Korber WMS). Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
