Lilly is currently constructing an advanced manufacturing facility for production of API molecules located in Lebanon, IN. This facility is Lilly’s largest investment in manufacturing capacity and is intended to provide APIs for current and future products. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of the leadership team for the startup of a greenfield manufacturing site, and the successful candidate will help to build the organization, the facility and the culture to enable a successful startup into GMP manufacturing operations. The associate is responsible for managing aspects of the Warehouse and Logistics operation at LP1. The Warehouse Operations include receipt, storage, weigh and dispense, sampling as well as local and international shipment of materials for the LP1 Campus. This role will be the Subject Matter Expert and Technical Leader for Warehouse Operations and Logistics process. The position requires knowledge of manufacturing processes, warehouse activities, while leading Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement within the Warehouse Team. Knowledge and familiarization with the SAP EWM system is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities: Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, environmental practices, quality, and productivity within the warehouse process team. Examples include reducing human errors, optimizing procedures, enhancing safety protocols, and improving operational efficiency across various warehouse functions. Create and execute change controls related to the Material Management Team. Create and maintain team procedures, job aids, logbooks, and other documentation. Technical Oversight: Ensure that all new shipping routes and product introductions meet technical qualifications and requirements. Understand SAP transactions related to inbound shipments, inventory management, material movements, and off-site shipping Oversee master data operations supporting the warehouse execution system Issue Resolution and Root Cause Analysis: Manage the escalation and resolution of issues related to warehousing and logistics processes. Lead Root Cause Analysis investigations for operations / human error deviations Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all warehouse and material storage activities adhere to safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and environmental procedures. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Lead internal & external audits within the warehouse area and ensure area & operators are audit ready Performance Metrics: Own functional Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Facilitate the metrics reporting process to monitor and report performance across warehouse operational team. Team Membership: Be part of the Manufacturing Operations Flow teams at LP1. Develop an understanding of current best practices across the API network and recommend replication opportunities where possible to drive effectiveness and efficiency. Basic Qualifications Bachelors degree in either Engineering, Supply Chain or Business Administration, or other relevant field 3 years’ experience in Supply chain/ Logistics / Quality (preference for pharmaceutical experience) SAP experience in a complex manufacturing environment Additional Preferences Drug Substance manufacturing experience and New Product introduction knowledge is preferable Strong Logistics & warehousing background including a detailed understanding of both ambient and cold chain shipping & storage Lilly is dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities to actively engage in the workforce, ensuring equal opportunities when vying for positions.
