Wireless Network Engineer III

JOB TITLE: Wireless Network Engineer III - 5G Mobile Core System Test Engineer JOB SUMMARY The Wireless Network Core Engineer is responsible for integration testing, troubleshoot and certification of 5G Core network systems. This candidate plays a key role in certification of all 5G Core network systems and report issues to development teams and vendors. The candidate must have full understanding of 3GPP standards, 5G call flows and good hands on experience in troubleshooting core subsystem elements like NR-RAN, AMF, PCF, SMF, CHF, AUSF, UDM, UDR, NRF UPF, CBRS, Mediation platforms etc The candidate must also have knowledge in Network Routers, Switches, Gateways, Firewalls, Docker containers and Kubernetes. Candidate also collabos with Vendors, internal Network Architects and Product Development teams as required. The candidate primarily works in lab environment during testing, recreating issues and troubleshooting lab and field reported tickets. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION Supporting 5G gNB, Smallcell functional and troubleshooting. Must have excellent problem solving, debugging and troubleshooting skills of 5G Core Network Architecture and interfaces and troubleshooting skills in 5G Core Interfaces (N1, N2, N3, N4, N6, N8, N10, N12) 5G RAN components as RRU, DU/CU for vRAN configuration Thorough understanding & Hands-on experience in Core Network Elements AMF, UPF, AUSF/ AAA, UDM, NSF. Knowledge in CBRS and FFC requirements (3.5GHz). Through knowledge in virtualization platforms, Docker containers and Kubernetes. Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience Provides support for escalated support across organizations Works with third party vendors for resolution or gets support as needed. Coaches less experienced staff Adhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable Know, understand and follow company policy. Perform other duties as requested by supervisor PREFERRED EXPERIENCE Skills / Abilities and Knowledge Should have excellent knowledge in Testing and Troubleshoot 5G Mobile Wireless core Networks or equivalent in similar telecom industry. Excellent knowledge in virtualization platforms, Dockers and Kubernetes, 2-3 years. Hands on experience using protocol communications test equipment and test tools. Experience in testing and troubleshooting IP core network and E2E call flows. Must possess excellent industry knowledge and theoretical understanding of 3GPP, IEEE 802.11 Experience with testing all Layers 1 thru 7 networks Knowledgeable with bug tracking and ticketing systems like Jira, Remedy etc. Extensive hands-on experience using network test equipment, such as Ixia, Spirent, Fluke Networks, IBB, Spectrum Analyzers, Site Survey Planning tools, and Traffic Generators. Strong work ethic with a desire to meet and exceed personal and business goals Self-motivated to take ownership of assigned projects, tickets and deliverables Ability to work both in a team and independently on assigned projects Strong verbal and written communication skills Learns and adapts to new technologies and methodologies. Ability to work with little supervision to execute and troubleshoot highly technical and complex issues Possesses strong analytical skills and attention to details Education Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience Professional level certification or equivalent work experience Related Work Experience 7 years of professional experience in an MSO/ISP Networking operations support or Engineering WORKING CONDITIONS Office Environment Network Lab environment Exposure to continuous mode noise Work performed near power lines and electricity Occasional travel as required Indotronix is an Equal Opportunity Employer
