Role: ADABAS database - Database Administrator DBA - Senior DBA Specialist - MS Location: Jackson, MS- 39211- Onsite Job Description: Description of the job functions the contractor will be expected to perform. In this position, we are seeking a talented and highly effective ADABAS database administrator to join our information database administration team. We are currently supporting, enhancing and maintaining the statewide SNAP/TANF Eligibility Determination system. The enhancements include use of latest technologies as needed to interface/integrate with other systems on different platforms and automation of current processes. Required Skills/Experience Provide the minimum required skills and/or experience the contractor must possess to qualify for this position. These requirements will be transferred to the Score Sheet and candidates without these requirements reflected on their resume will NOT be presented to the manager for consideration. Technical Skill Set: Experience with software AG products; ADABAS, Natural, Natural One, Predict, Construct, ADABAS Replication, Treehouse tcVision, WebMethods EntireX, CONNX SQL gateway, ApplinX, Natural AJAX. Experience with analyzing user requirements and designs along with testing, implementing and performing Quality Assurance (QA) of information systems utilizing NATURAL ONE, ADABAS, MVS/JCL COBOL/CICS, VSAM files, LINUX ESPSOFT/SCL, INFORMIX relational database, and UNIX. Experience with automated eligibility determination systems Ability to provide subject matter expertise on system architectures Business Skill Set/Requirements: Ability to provide recommendations regarding enhancements to the systems and processes. Experience developing, maintaining, and updating documentation for procedures, policies, and processes. Experience training end users on software. Experience with Windows, Unix/Linux/zLinux. Knowledge of SNAP and TANF eligibility and econonomic assistance policies and procedures, and current state and federal mandates as implemented or similar to those in MAVS, the Mississippi statewide eligibility determination system. Experience interpreting, designing and implementing federal and state mandates in Linux systems such as MAVS. Preferred/Not Required: Provide any skills/experience that would be helpful for the candidate to possess but not required. Examples: Previous supervisory experience, WebLogic experience helpful, etc Ability to effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing. Strong oral and written communication, and time management skills. Strong presentation and facilitation skills. Ability to work independently but effectively with a team to accomplish team projects and solve technical problems. Ability to conceive and/or develop creative solutions and possess strong problem-solving skills. Experience with SCRUM /Iteration methodologies. Experience with Jira Software. Ability to work on many projects at one time. Experience converting out dated technologies to new cutting-edge technologies.
