The Royal Caribbean Group's Royal Caribbean International Brand has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Lead Financial Analyst of Product Development and Newbuild reporting to the Senior Manager of Product Development Finance. This position works on-site in Miami, Florida Position Summary: The Lead Financial Analyst of Product Development functions as an integral part of the Royal Caribbean Finance department, and more specifically the Product Development Finance team. This position is responsible for the departmental controllership of payroll, G&A expense, and capitalized labor (for both land and ship projects) as well as conducting and coordinating various analyses as determined by Senior Management in support of operations decision making, most specifically around capital projects. This role will also be responsible for the management of contracts related to strategic capital projects including owning the approval workflow, tracking reporting and preparing supporting documentation as well as support in capital project budgeting and forecasting. Effective communication of this information with Senior Management and the respective operational groups is critical to the success of this position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide detailed monthly analysis on G&A plan performance and provide forecasts that support organizational goals and objectives. Coordinate and report on monthly and quarterly G&A variances from forecast and actuals. Oversee monthly journal entries to reclassify capitalized labor for the Product Development department (across all capital projects - ships and land). Support capital project budgeting/forecasting, annual consolidation, and monthly forecasting of project status against plan. Manage and report on contracts related to capital projects including contract tracking reporting, approval workflow and providing supporting documentation. Quickly turn-around ad-hoc financial analysis in a dynamic environment. Prepare business presentations for special projects. Properly track existing capital requests, update forecasts based on reasonable assumptions and actual performance and initiatives, and track watch list projects and amendments to existing projects. Support the growth and mentorship of Finance Analysts supporting his/her portfolio. Perform other duties as required. Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills: Four-year Bachelor's or equivalent required; Five to seven years related business analysis experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidate must possess strong written and oral communication skills and be able to work effectively with all levels of personnel. Strong PC skills are required. Advanced Word, PowerPoint, and Excel - including intricate knowledge not only of advanced formulas (such as index-match), but also excel problem solving abilities to extract analysis and insights out of data dumps - required. Strong knowledge of the cruise industry preferred. Financial Modeling: Evaluating data, determining optimal way to spend to accomplish company goals. Analytical: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and opportunities of alternative solutions and conclusions. Complex Problem Solving: Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop options and implement solutions. Presentation: Using computer skills and communication style to create, manipulate, edit, and communicate slide presentations. Understanding end-state and the best way to present a story in a logical and analytical fashion to achieve desired results. Active Listening: Giving full attention to what other people are communicating and taking time to understand points being made. Negotiating and Persuasion: Bringing others together to try to reconcile differences and persuading others to your point of view. Strong understanding of marketing principles to lead management on strategic initiatives and guide analysis. Coordinate and report on Monthly and Quarterly SG&A variances from forecast and actuals. Liaise with appropriate departments to complete monthly/quarterly requirements. Consolidate and report on Capital projects and forecasting monthly and quarterly. Execute on SOX and Company capital reporting requirements, including capital projects in process and timely certifications. We know there's a lot to consider.
