JOB SUMMARY The Administrative Assistant performs tasks and services to support the effective and efficient operations of the company’s main office, which is responsible for employee onboarding, record keeping, payroll, benefits, office management and other related duties. This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position that is Anchorage based and requires an in-office presence. There is the potential for advancement in this position. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • High School Diploma or GED. • Prior administrative or office experience. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and office equipment. • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn employee file record keeping software and other office computer applications. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in related field. • Proven administrative and/or HR experience in a professional office setting, with a record of dependability. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of employee files and records. • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of company information including, but not limited to, financial and proprietary information. • Performs accurate and timely data entry into the HR Information System (HRIS). • Helps with general office duties, including mail sorting, invoice processing, answering phone and assisting customers and employees with questions and requests. • Performs audits of employee files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately. • Conducts or assists with new hire orientation. • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as hiring events/job fairs, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, and holiday parties. • Provides clerical support to the HR department. • Works on special projects as requested. • Performs other duties as assigned. COMPENSATION The position is a full time, hourly, non-exempt position. Starting pay is based on experience but starts at $20. This is a position that has opportunity for advancement of responsibility and pay. WORKING ENVIRONMENT This is an Anchorage based position. The majority of work is performed in a professional office setting with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities, backgrounds and abilities. Occasional travel during working hours may be required throughout the Anchorage area and reliable transportation is necessary. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The work requires routine walking, standing and prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. Background check and drug test required.
