Data Steward - Enterprise Data Management and Governance

Overview This blended business/technical role acts as proxy for the data owner (business leader responsible for a given subject area - for example the Customer). The Data Steward is responsible for data quality and adherence to policies, cleansing and enrichment rules, trust rules for systems-of-record, and related communications. The role will also be a champion of change, training, and auditor. This role is a member in an ecosystem of data stewards and will provide support for various business units that do not have full-time capabilities. Deliverables include data quality management, data quality rule and definition development, monitoring/audit, stakeholder communications, and documentation. Responsibilities Define and document information objects (for example, the Customer) with the relationships between source system(s), including hierarchies and control points Research, gather and document information objects Define and document data quality rules, process models, workflows, and arbitration rules Capture and measure data quality metrics and create data exception reports Perform data validation testing and periodic audit for data quality Perform manual cleansing processes where control gaps may exist Ensure documentation is complete and current for responsible information objects Drive improvements in processes for more effective controls of information objects Requirements 2 years of experience in an audit, business analysis, data quality, or QA Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Ability to work with and facilitate workshops for all levels of the organization Strong analytical skills, including the ability to understand business needs and translate into requirements and business value (business case) Understanding of at least one process modeling framework (TOGAF, BPMI, UML or related) Ability to set individual priorities and help plan and complete tasks and organizational objectives Ability to work both independently and in a team environment Detail-oriented Visa sponsorship is not available for this posting. Bachelor's in Business, Accounting, or Public Administration Recommended Qualifications Experience as an internal/external auditor, data quality specialist, or business/system analyst Prior experience managing/defining information utilizing Master Data Management concepts Experience in quality frameworks such as LEAN/Six Sigma, PDCA, TQM or Value Analysis Basic understanding of at least one data related language (SQL, R, Python) and enabling tools Familiarity with one or more core platforms (SAP, Salesforce, Adobe, ArcGIS) Experience with data related technologies including SQL Server, Oracle, data warehousing, data lakes, ETL, and/or Reporting and Analytics Exposure to cloud portals (AWS, Azure, GCP) LI-JH2 LI-Onsite Total Rewards Esri's competitive total rewards strategy includes industry-leading health and welfare benefits: medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance for employees (and their families), 401(k) and profit-sharing programs, minimum accrual of 80 hours of vacation leave, twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year, and opportunities for personal and professional growth. Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy. Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
