Position: Business Development Manager Location: San Antonio, TX Type: Permanent Salary: $100k - $109k Base RESPONSIBILITIES: Establish corporate market presence by identifying, developing, defining, and securing Federal business opportunities within the designated portfolio. Formulate, implement, and execute a growth strategy for the assigned area, striving to meet sales and revenue targets. Maintain a proactive and active pipeline of opportunities, identifying new leads to fulfill strategic growth objectives, including both competitive and sole-source targets. Evaluate opportunities using diverse information sources to facilitate a bid/no-bid decision-making process. Build and maintain strategic relationships with new clients and partners while nurturing existing connections. Assist in selecting teaming partners for opportunities, including supporting information requests related to capabilities, past performance, and technical inputs. Lead and contribute to Bid & Proposal initiatives in the assigned domain, collaborating with the proposal team to shape proposal formats, develop solutions, craft win themes, and participate in review processes. Partner with the Operations team to identify new opportunities within the existing client base. Support responses to Federal/DoD market research, sources sought, and Requests for Information (RFIs). Attend industry events and pre-proposal conferences to network meaningfully with customers and industry partners and gather insights on forecasted opportunities and government needs/trends. Travel requirement: 25-35%. Perform additional duties as required. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in business development as a Business Development Manager or Capture Manager for a Federal/DoD contractor. Proven experience in developing and supporting service-based proposals for DoD/Federal clients. Familiarity with the Shipley process and methodologies. Proficient in using federal opportunity sourcing tools such as SAM.gov, FedConnect, and Deltek GovWinIQ. Demonstrated experience in managing and cultivating a pipeline. Expertise in crafting and executing pursuit and bid strategies. Competence in forming strategic partnerships and teaming arrangements. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Strong presentation and interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, SharePoint). Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Strong strategic analysis and critical thinking capabilities. Self-motivated with a strong desire to achieve. Enjoys collaboration and teamwork. DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Experience with 8(a) Federal contracting preferred. Shipley training preferred.
