DescriptionThe Cycle Counter plays a critical role in maintaining inventory data integrity within a chemical manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for performing regular cycle counts of inventory items, identifying discrepancies between physical stock and system records, and assisting in resolving those discrepancies. The Cycle Counter works closely with various departments, including warehouse, production, and finance teams, to ensure stock records' accuracy and support plant operations. This role is essential to maintaining compliance with safety regulations, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.•Routine Cycle Counting: Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts of raw materials, finished products, and other inventory items to ensure accurate stock levels in the inventory management system.•Discrepancy Identification & Reporting: Identify discrepancies between physical counts and system records, report variances to appropriate personnel, and collaborate with the inventory or finance teams to resolve issues.•Data Entry and System Updates: Accurately enter cycle count data into the inventory system in real-time, ensuring that all counts are reflected promptly and correctly in inventory records.•Audit Support: Assist with internal and external inventory audits, ensuring items are physically available for verification, providing necessary reports, and helping address audit findings.•Root Cause Analysis: Analyze inventory discrepancies to determine the underlying causes and collaborate with other departments to propose corrective actions that prevent recurrence.•Collaboration: Work closely with warehouse staff, production teams, and management to maintain and improve inventory control processes and ensure proper storage, handling, and rotation of materials.•Compliance with Safety Standards: Adhere to all safety regulations in compliance with OSHA guidelines, ensuring safe practices are followed when handling chemicals, equipment, and other hazardous materials.•Continuous Improvement: Provide recommendations for process improvements related to inventory control and efficiency, contributing to overall plant performance and cost optimization.Requirements•High School Diploma or equivalent required. An Associate's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred but not required.•At least 1-2 years of experience in inventory management, warehousing, or a similar field.•Experience in a manufacturing or chemical plant environment is highly desirable but not mandatory.•Prior experience using inventory management systems and performing cycle counts is a plus.•Safely and efficiently operate a forklift (preferred) •Attention to Detail: A high level of attention to detail is required to spot discrepancies accurately and ensure correct data entry.•Numerical Skills: Strong math and analytical abilities for counting, data entry, and identifying discrepancies.•Technical Skills: Proficient in using inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) to track inventory and generate reports.•Problem-solving skills: Ability to identify the root cause of inventory discrepancies and work with other teams to implement corrective actions.•Organizational Skills: Effective time management and prioritization skills to simultaneously handle multiple counting tasks and responsibilities.•Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to document findings, report issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.•Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations, particularly in a chemical manufacturing environment, and the ability to consistently follow safety procedures to minimize risks.•Teamwork & Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve inventory-related issues and contribute to team goals.
